Mark Ruffalo Reportedly Returning as Bruce Banner in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

According to Nexus Point News, Mark Ruffalo is set to reprise his role as Bruce Banner in the upcoming film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day“. Unlike a brief cameo, Ruffalo’s character will play a significant part in the movie’s plot. It remains unclear whether we’ll see him transform into the Hulk or if he’ll remain human throughout, but either way, his involvement in the story is substantial.

Last time fans caught a glimpse of Ruffalo’s character Banner, it was in the series “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” on Disney+. In this series, a car accident resulted in Jennifer Walters, Banner’s cousin, acquiring Hulk abilities after being injected with his blood. Banner then assisted her in honing these powers and later appeared accompanied by his son, Skaar, who was born on the alien planet Sakaar.

At that stage, he was still maintaining his “Professor Hulk” persona – essentially combining Banner’s intellect with the Hulk’s physique. As for the upcoming film, it remains uncertain whether he’ll opt for this form or revert to the more feral “Savage Hulk”. However, even in his regular guise as Bruce Banner, there’s potential for him to assist Peter Parker in a mentorship role within the sciences.

The upcoming film, titled “Spider-Man: Fresh Start,” is set to be the fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man franchise. This new adventure will be helmed by director Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously brought us “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” The screenplay for this exciting chapter is being crafted by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

In the upcoming Spider-Man movie, Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker. Additionally, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will make appearances in more limited capacities. Actor Michael Mando, known for playing Mac Gargan, might also return; however, his involvement has not been officially confirmed yet. Newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colon-Zayas have joined the cast, but their roles remain a secret for now.

As a die-hard film fan, I’m thrilled to share that filming for this much-anticipated project is set to commence in the heart of London in July 2025. The production will conclude in the fall, and This movie, a part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, promises to be an epic addition to this sprawling cinematic saga.
