Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord to get massive Japanese conversion mod in June 2025

Among this year’s mods, Shokuho stands out as one of the most ambitious ones, and now we have a projected launch date: In June 2025, the complete transformation mod for Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will be available on PC.

In the spirit of Mount & Blade: Warband’s Gekojujo mod, Shokuho transforms the game map into an embodiment of feudal Japan during the Sengoku Jidai – the Warring States Period. Players can strive for eternal honor in combat, aspire to become the dominant warlord, or choose the path of a masterless ronin seeking loot and plunder – all experiences that differ significantly from the base game, which is based on European Late Antiquity.

The modding team has skillfully crafted a visually stunning landscape brimming with vibrant battlefields, towering fortresses, and flags billowing gracefully in the breeze. It appears that ship-to-ship combat will also be a part of this experience, although it’s set to be introduced via the War Sails DLC on June 17, 2025.

Historically accurate, the European musket fits seamlessly among Japan’s traditional arsenal of weapons like bows, spears, halberds (naginatas), and swords (katanas). This presents an intriguing choice for players: Will they adhere to age-old tactics or outfit their troops with cutting-edge technology?

Shokuho will be available via Steam Workshop, Mod DB, and Nexus Mods in June 2025.
