Discover the 75 Most Epic Dubbed Anime You Must Watch Now!

Anime is one of the biggest entertainment industries in Japan today, second only to Manga. But what happens when you take this unique storytelling style and re-create it in another language? Would you lose some of the magic? Or do dubs offer something a subtitled version can’t? It’s a debate that has raged for decades and one we’ll probably be having for many more to come. And that is why I have decided to go through the best-dubbed anime here in this article.

I’ve compiled a list of top-notch anime series that I believe share a compelling story or memorable characters and boast excellent English dubbing. While opinions may vary regarding what makes an outstanding dubbed anime, there should be several titles on this list that appeal to you. Let’s take a look!

This version attempts to make the text more conversational and engaging while still preserving the original meaning.

75. ‘Tsubasa Chronicle’ (2005)

Among the top-notch English-dubbed anime, I’ve added this one to my list as it is the initial installment of the ‘Tsubasa Chronicle’ movies. Although it’s a brief film with minimal alterations, the modifications made are significant enough to warrant its mention here. In this version, Sakura doesn’t possess any magic, Clow Reed has been reborn as Fujitaka Kinomoto, and Nadeshiko is absent because she was never part of this alternate universe (AU).

In this narrative, perspectives alternate between Syaoran and Fay, providing insights into Syaoran’s emotions towards Sakura’s mysterious disappearance (even though he isn’t aware that she exists in this world). True to form, Sakura is captured and requires rescue by Syaoran. A captivating moment occurs when Syaoran selflessly throws himself between Sakura and a bullet, shielding her, but taking the brunt of the impact which leaves him severely injured. It’s Fay who tends to his wounds in this instance.

74. Spice And Wolf II (2010)

A particular investor aims to grow his business alongside Lawrence’s company, but he feels the need for an extra worker given the wolf threat. It falls on Lawrence and Holo to recruit a fitting candidate for this role. However, they don’t work in isolation; another competitor is ready to go to great lengths to secure this position.

In this prequel, we see how the two primary characters initially clash as adversaries. Holo is attempting to swipe Lawrence’s earnings and safeguard her own business. Their confrontation unfolds in a snowy landscape, which carries significant symbolism within the series – often signifying moments of awe or joy with its “white” backdrop.

73. ‘Haganai I Don’t Have Many Friends’ (2010)

In this anime, we follow the story of Kodaka, a high school student with a complex past involving both peers and tormentors. He encounters Sena, the most popular girl in school, as well as Yozora, who professes to communicate with spirits. Together, they establish a club catering to individuals like themselves, gathering more companions on their journey. However, Kodaka appears to struggle immensely in friendship-building, and Yozora’s behavior can be quite off-putting.

I’m quite fond of this particular anime. Each character is captivating in their own unique way. They interact wonderfully with one another; Yozora tends to be quite serious, Sena is overly dramatic, Rika (the senior student) has a charming appeal, and Tsuntsun, Yukimura (Sena’s friend), is both playful and dependable. The dynamics among the main characters are also intriguing.

72. ‘Fairy Tail’ (2009)

Over the years, ‘Fairy Tail’ has maintained its popularity and seems to keep gaining momentum rather than slowing down. This entertaining series skillfully blends action, humor, and drama to produce unforgettable scenes. Moreover, it boasts one of the top-notch English dubs due to the dedication of its mature cast. Although the show requires some initial investment of time, once it picks up pace, viewers find themselves captivated until they finish this remarkable series.

71. ‘Welcome To The NHK’ (2006)

Among many melancholic anime, Welcome to the NHK stands out for sharing an unusually deep sadness. This grim narrative offers a poignant reflection of reality, as it portrays the enigmatic nature of others’ lives, making it a heartrending and authentic representation of people like its characters.

In contrast to most anime series that humorously replicate their content in dubbed versions, these services distinctively stand out from other anime titles due to their unique approach. This particular series centers around Tatsuhiro Satou, a 22-year-old shut-in who stays at home and believes the world is controlled by a secret conspiracy. Unlike most people, Satou is extremely shy and seldom interacts with others. However, a girl named Misaki Nakahara plays a significant role in his life by helping him transform into a more outgoing individual.

70. ‘Highschool DxD’ (2012)

The narrative revolves around a young man named Issei. On his inaugural date, he met an untimely end, only to be reborn as a demon. Now, under the supervision of Rias, one of the most attractive girls in school, he serves as her underling. Known for his lewd behavior and frequent run-ins with trouble, Issei is commonly referred to as “The Imp” or part of the “Perverted Trio (Gokuraku).” I find myself favoring the title “Rias Gremory” as the primary character in this anime series, which focuses on high school experiences.

69. ‘Danganronpa: The Animation’ (2013)

In ‘Danganronpa’, we find a unique high school setting with 15 pupils attending. However, graduation isn’t straightforward; instead, they are informed by the anthropomorphic bear Monokuma that the only way to graduate is by murdering one of their peers. The catch? If the other students uncover the killer’s identity, they too will be killed. If not, it’s a lone graduation with deadly consequences for the rest. Essentially, ‘Danganronpa: School Killing Game’ unfolds as a darkly humorous and tragic tale set within the walls of a school environment. The series often incorporates dialogue-heavy scenes, and there are instances where the main character adds humor to the conversations.

68. ‘Black Butler’ (2008)

In a twist of events, a young lad struck a deal with an enigmatic demon disguised as a devoted butler. This butler was bound to safeguard and cater to the boy’s needs, and could be summoned at will by the boy. Over the past four years, this series has been Funimation’s top-rated show, striking a perfect balance between humor and gloom that keeps viewers hooked once they tune in. The episodes often conclude with suspenseful cliffhangers, leaving audiences eager for more. Notably, the voice acting in ‘Black Butler’ is commendable, with Travis Willingham delivering an exceptional performance as Sebastian. He manages to convey both a sense of terror at times and warmth on other occasions.

67. ‘Kakegurui’ (2017)

As a movie enthusiast, I’d say ‘Kakegurui’ introduces Hyakkaou Private Academy, a unique institution for the affluent. Unlike traditional schools focused on sports or academics, here, wealth doesn’t guarantee success through athletic prowess or book smarts. Instead, it’s about mastering human psychology and the subtle art of negotiation – skills that can be honed to perfection with an intense gambling education. The victors at Hyakkaou Academy enjoy a life of luxury, but the defeated face harsh consequences. Yet, when Yumeko Jabami enrolls, she’ll share her high-stakes gaming expertise and challenge these students to embrace the thrill of being a true high roller.

This animated series lacks any elements of the supernatural and instead, each character possesses distinct, non-deus ex machina powers that are intriguingly introduced throughout the series. The artwork for this show is impressive, standing out among contemporary anime productions with its high-quality visuals. Without revealing spoilers, I believe these points accurately sum up the unique appeal of this anime.

66. ‘Durarara!!X2’ (2015)

Since 2011, this TV series has been airing with consistent characters, though Izaya now plays a larger role and is more entertaining than ever. The English dub adds depth to these elements, making them even more captivating for viewers. It’s been half a year since the tragic event in Ikebukuro, giving an impression of tranquility returning to the city. High school students are back to their daily routines and laughter, while the most powerful figure in Ikebukuro tirelessly works each day. The headless rider is hatching a plot, causing the police to pursue her through the darkened streets. However, this peaceful period will not last forever as a new element, lurking in mystery, prepares to seize control of the city and bring about a fresh tempest.

65. ‘One-Punch Man’ (2015)

I find One-Punch Man absolutely captivating! Madhouse truly outdid themselves with the direction, making it a visual treat. Funimation’s dubbing has been consistently impressive as well. Despite other great titles, this one stands out for me. Saitama possesses extraordinary powers, able to defeat any foe with just one punch. Yet, he leads an ordinary life, training tirelessly and losing his hair in the process – now bald as can be. He appears indifferent to most things, but his dedication to his friends and the city is evident. One-Punch Man offers a delightful blend of humor and excitement, making it a fantastic choice for those seeking a fun and engaging anime experience.

64. ‘Monster Musume No Iru Nichijou’ (2015)

The series boasts an outstanding English adaptation by Sentai Filmworks. Its narrative revolves around monsters originating from another realm, seeking integration into our world. They can choose to go on dates with humans, based on personal preferences. Audience members have the freedom to decide who these creatures should court. Currently, there are seven seasons available, catering to both subtitled and dubbed audiences. This anime has garnered significant popularity in America, making it one of the most-watched series within that region.

63. ‘Kono Subarashii Sekai Ni Shukufuku Wo!’ (2016)

This anime revolves around a character who lost his original life. However, he was granted a new opportunity to live in a different realm. He received an artifact capable of granting three wishes under the right conditions. If he uses these wishes, he can either return to his old home or bring back those who were once deceased from this world. The series includes humorous scenes for light-hearted viewing. If you’re not seeking humor, it remains engaging due to exciting developments later in the storyline, particularly as the series progresses towards its conclusion.

62. ‘Ajin’ – 2nd season (2016)

As a dedicated anime enthusiast, I can confidently say that among all the series I’ve watched, none compares to the captivating tale of “Ajin”. Whether you prefer to immerse yourself in its original Japanese dialogues (subbed) or the flawlessly translated English versions (dubbed), this show caters to every viewer. Personally, I would recommend diving into the dubbed version for an even more immersive experience.

The first season of Ajin was nothing short of brilliant, and with Season 2, it continues the gripping narrative right from where it left off in the last episode. The show is packed with scenes that will leave you on the edge of your seat, as the unsavory characters grapple with the presence of Ajin in their world.

This anime is quite dark, but I believe that aspect only enhances its appeal because it leaves you eagerly waiting to see what unfolds next. I highly recommend giving it a shot!”

As for my personal preference, if I were to choose my favorite anime without hesitation, it would be the first season of Ajin. The show’s dubbing is more than satisfactory in my opinion. You can easily locate the voice actors from this series on Funimation.

61. ‘Ninja Slayer’ (2015)

The series ‘Ninja Slayer’ was an excellent production, despite encountering certain issues along the way. These hiccups didn’t detract from the overall quality of the show. In particular, the character of Ninja Slayer had numerous voice actors, but Bryce Papenbrook truly excelled in his portrayal. Lately, Sentai Filmworks has been active in providing English dubbing for anime, allowing a broader audience to appreciate these productions. They are one of the top companies when it comes to delivering high-quality dubs, making anime more accessible to English speakers.

60. ‘Parasyte’ (2014)

‘Parasyte’ is an intriguing series that delves into the chilling realm of body-snatching monsters, deviating starkly from typical lighthearted shows. Despite its dark subject matter, the script cleverly infuses elements of amusement as it explores these unusual concepts. Although it has a few flaws, ‘Parasyte’ remains an exceptional series that I would highly recommend to anime enthusiasts who appreciate horror genres and can tolerate some graphic violence. The voice acting is commendable, enhancing the overall quality of the show. While its shortcomings are minimal, they should be noted. Overall, I rate ‘Parasyte’ a remarkable 9/10.

59. ‘One Piece’ (1999)

‘One Piece’ seamlessly blends various elements such as anime and extended animation sequences. Despite its visuals being less impressive today, the English dub continues to rank among FUNimation’s finest productions.

Once upon a time, a notorious sea robber known as Gol D. Roger amassed great wealth and authority, earning himself the title of Pirate King. His legendary hoard, referred to as ‘One Piece’, was concealed along the perilous Grand Line. Many have attempted to uncover it, yet its whereabouts remain a mystery due to the treacherous nature of this region. Exactly twenty-two years after Gol D. Roger’s demise, an ambitious young lad named Monkey D. Luffy embarked on his own pirating journey, aiming to follow in the footsteps of the late Pirate King by seeking out and claiming the elusive treasure to become the next King of Pirates himself.

58. ‘Tokyo Ghoul’ (2014)

‘Tokyo Ghoul’ includes some slower moments, but it delves into the harsh realities that characters face to survive. This theme permeates every character in the series. Although I haven’t watched all ‘Tokyo Ghoul’ dubbed versions, the ones I’ve seen are among FUNimation’s finest recent productions. This is due to their well-crafted scripts and skilled voice actors.

In this tale, enigmatic beings known as “ghouls” terrorize humans by feeding on them. The populace lives in constant fear of being their next meal. At a café he frequently visits, Kaneki crosses paths with a girl named Rize. They discover they share a passion for literature. However, unbeknownst to him, this encounter will drastically alter his life within a single night.

57. ‘Wolf Children Ame And Yuki’ (2012)

‘Wolf Children Ame and Yuki’ is an exceptional film that explores how one can unintentionally transform into their deepest fear or loathing. This transformation occurs in Hana, who falls in love with a man who later reveals himself as part-wolf. The narrative unfolds as Hana chooses to relocate with him into the woods.

They share two offspring, yet due to their half-wolf lineage that causes them to age more slowly than typical humans, their birthdays won’t coincide with those of other children. I was completely unaware of how excellent this movie was until I experienced the dubbed version. The ensemble of voice actors delivered exceptional performances in this film, infusing each character with a distinct personality.

56. ‘Steins; Gate’ (2011)

Rintarou Okabe, a university student who goes by the pseudonym Crazy Mad Scientist Hououin Kyouma, along with his lab colleagues, are working on a microwave gadget capable of transmitting messages into the past. Although ‘Steins; Gate’ has certain rhythmic inconsistencies, I believe these contribute to its appeal and clarity. Additionally, it’s captivating to witness the main character grapple with his newfound power. In my opinion, ‘Steins; Gate’ is a compelling series worth watching. Notably, several renowned voice actors handle its English dubbing, ensuring an engaging experience that you wouldn’t want to miss out on.

55. ‘Soul Eater’ (2008)

‘Soul Eater’ is an animated series packed with humor and excitement! The zanier it gets, the more enjoyable it becomes to watch! Each episode offers its share of laughs. If you’re looking for a lighthearted anime that won’t bog you down with seriousness, then ‘Soul Eater’ might just be the one for you! As long as you can handle some intense scenes, I believe most people will have a blast with ‘Soul Eater’! Personally, I think this is one of the best-dubbed anime out there. Although opinions may vary, I still wholeheartedly recommend giving ‘Soul Eater’ a try if you haven’t already!

54. ‘D.Gray-Man’ (2006)

‘D. Gray Man’ is a popular anime that has been watched by many people at some point. With 146 episodes available, it’s challenging not to have an opinion about it! If you haven’t seen this show yet, I highly suggest giving it a try. You might discover yourself chuckling frequently throughout the series. Even after a decade since its release, this anime remains fresh and entertaining! The narrative centers around the main character, Allen Walker, who possesses the power of ‘Innocence.’ Innocence is a unique weapon that can purify evil entities with its sacred energy, making it an essential tool in the battle against the Akuma, who aim to destroy our world.

53. ‘Bleach’ (2004)

‘Bleach’ chronicles the escapades of Ichigo Kurosaki, a spirited teenager, whose life takes an extraordinary turn when he acquires the powers of a Soul Reaper from his parents. This captivating anime is not to be missed due to its engrossing main storylines. Notably, renowned voice actors like Johnny Yong Bosch have contributed commendable performances to the English dubbed version.

52. ‘Black Lagoon’ (2006)

A Japanese businessman, fed up with the corporate life, decides to stick with his captors who are mercenaries, and eventually joins their team. I find that ‘Black Lagoon’ offers a unique perspective on the criminal underworld, making it one of FUNimation’s top action-packed series in the West. You can’t make a mistake in watching Black Lagoon, as it boasts talented voice actors like Johnny Yong Bosch in its English dub version.

51. ‘Hellsing Ultimate’ (2006-2014)

As a devoted cinema enthusiast, let me tell you that ‘Hellsing Ultimate’ is an action-packed series that truly immerses you in its unique universe. It’s one of the bloodiest and wildest shows I’ve ever encountered. Whether you opt for the English dub with the talented voices of Brina Palencia, Preston Plow, and Tristan MacAvery, or any other language, I can assure you that this series is a must-watch.

50. ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ (1992-1995)

If you’re looking for an anime that combines intense action with rich character development, give Yu Yu Hakusho a try. This series showcases the incredible power that an underdog protagonist can possess when supported by a strong ensemble cast. Yusuke, one of the characters, is as loyal as they come, and if you want to see this for yourself, look no further than this anime.

49. ‘Wolf’s Rain’ (2003)

‘Wolf’s Rain’ distinguishes itself within the action/adventure anime realm due to its unique artistic flair and innovative interpretation of the solitary wolf character. Boasting talented actors such as Steve Blum for the English dub, this series is a must-watch regardless of the language you prefer.

48. ‘Parasyte The Maxim’ (2014)

Some individuals may find discomfort in themes revolving around body horror and violence, but I find “Parasyte” to offer a distinct perspective on the classic “alien invasion” narrative. It’s one of Funimation’s series that was originally produced in Japan, and what sets it apart is its exceptional quality. The audio is available in both languages, ensuring a satisfying viewing experience for all. Plus, the acting is top-notch, so there’s no risk of being disappointed while watching it.

47. ‘Death Note’ (2006-2007)

If you haven’t encountered the animated version of ‘Death Note’, derived from the Manga, you’re in for a treat! The initial episodes will bombard you with details about Death Notes and the characters that drive the plot. However, stick with it, as everything starts making sense eventually! Watching this anime unfold is thrilling, as you witness each character attempting to outwit their opponents to achieve their objectives. I strongly recommend giving it a watch – it’s an outstanding series in my opinion!

46. ‘Attack On Titan’ (2013-2023)

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the show ‘Noragami’! It had a delightful plot that kept me engaged. Each character has their own distinct personality, making it simple to become familiar with them from the start. The way the story unfolded was a joy to behold, and I’m eagerly awaiting what happens next!

44. ‘Death Parade’ (2015)

I began watching the anime ‘Death Parade’ as one of my college friend’s top picks, and she persuaded me to watch it almost every day during our university years. To be completely honest, I’m grateful for her insistence! This show boasts exceptional character growth, with each episode featuring individuals who visit a bar where they engage in games that reveal their deepest truths and life choices. It’s intriguing to ponder the thoughts people might have when confronted with such situations where dishonesty is impossible – I highly recommend giving it a try!

43. ‘Seraph Of The End’ (2015)

‘Seraph’ is a fantastic series that blends action and fantasy seamlessly. Its narrative is captivating, filled with unexpected twists that make it all the more intriguing. This anime is truly enjoyable, but beware – if you haven’t read the Manga, there could be spoilers for future story arcs as this anime adapts only the Manga’s initial arc. The characters are simply remarkable!

41. ‘Code Geass’ (2006-2008)

In my earlier days of anime viewing, I stumbled upon Code Geass, which made its debut on Netflix UK approximately 2-3 years back. It features some spectacular fight sequences and boasts an impressive cast, with Lelouch being a standout character. The narrative of this show was captivating, making it hard to turn away. Consequently, I managed to complete the series in a relatively short period, say around a week or two, because I found myself unable to pause my binge-watching!

42. ‘Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kira’ (2011-2012)

‘Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kira’ is a dubbed anime that follows a group of friends who become entangled in a mysterious village where strange murders occur. Initially, it appears these killings are due to ordinary causes, but as the series unfolds, it becomes clear they’re linked to something otherworldly. The storyline is intricate and filled with suspenseful twists.

40. ‘Akatsuki No Yona’ (2014-2015)

The ‘Akatsuki No Yona’ anime features one of my all-time favorite heroines named Yona. She’s adorable and compassionate, but when she assumes the form of the Red Dragon Empress, she becomes utterly fierce! If you haven’t dived into this Manga yet, I highly recommend it. The anime does a fantastic job of bringing it to life, even though some episodes aren’t found in the original Manga. It’s an outstanding series overall.

39. ‘Orange’ (2016)

I absolutely adored the “Orange” anime! Occasionally, I found myself irritated with the characters, but other than that, it ranks as my top shojo series, boasting a captivating narrative! The storyline revolves around Naho, who receives a letter from her future self warning her about significant events involving the new transfer student, Kakeru. She’s tasked with ensuring his safety because something may go awry. This anime is brimming with heartwarming scenes and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Shojo series – it’s truly remarkable!

38. ‘Ouran High School Host Club’ (2006)

‘Ouran High School Host Club’ revolves around Haruhi Fujioka, a scholarship student at the elite Ouran Academy. One day, Haruhi unintentionally enters the Host Club, an exclusive group of handsome and charming male students who cater to female clients. Thinking she’s a boy due to her attire, the club enlists Haruhi as a host to settle a debt. As she juggles high society life and romantic entanglements, humorous predicaments unfold, challenging conventional gender norms and assumptions. The show delves into themes of camaraderie, self-discovery, and the eccentricities of affluence and power.

37. ‘K-On!’ (2009)

Recently, I indulged in a captivating series on Netflix UK, craving more anime in my life. This gem circles around Yui Hirasawa, a character who, along with her childhood friend Ritsu Tainaka, decides to join the Sakuragaoka Girl’s High School Light Music Club for some fun. Little did they know, this whimsy would lead them waking up at the crack of dawn every Saturday for band practice! Despite its brevity, the comedy in this anime is abundant and it’s a must-watch for anyone seeking a hearty chuckle!

36. ‘Reborn’ (2006-2010)

This captivating anime series unfolds the tale of Tsuna, a young man residing in Italy, who is entwined within the Vongola mafia family. The initial part of the storyline delves into Tsuna’s transition into the criminal underworld, where he encounters characters like Reborn (who harbors ill intentions towards him), and develops affection for those close to him, such as his prospective spouse, to shield them from harm. In addition to sporadic battles with rival mafia leaders, this anime offers a wealth of humor that I find particularly appealing.

35. ‘Akame ga Kill’ (2014)

‘Akame ga Kill!’ is an animated series in the genre of dark fantasy, where we follow the journey of Tatsumi, a young villager with aspirations of making a positive impact in the capital city. Their objective is to bring down the corrupt regime, and each member wields a powerful weapon known as Teigu. As Tatsumi gets embroiled in lethal battles, he grapples with ethical quandaries and learns the brutal truths hidden within the world he yearned to transform.

34. ‘Shugo Chara!’ (2007-2008)

The ‘Shugo Chara’ anime was outstanding due to its blend of thrilling battle sequences featuring Amu, coupled with a captivating narrative that revolved around the Easter Company. Moreover, Amu found herself in romantic entanglements as she navigated relationships with three other egg characters – Ikuto, Tadase, and Kukai – who all harbored affection for her. If you’re a fan of shojo anime, this series is definitely worth your time, and if you’ve already watched it, I recommend revisiting it as I found myself forgetting some details from the middle.

33. ‘Rozen Maiden’ (2004-2006)

The Rozen Maiden anime revolves around Jun Sakurada, a character who dislikes dolls due to his mother’s frequent birthday gifts of human-like dolls, which gives him an unsettling feeling. However, his perception changes when a doll named Shinku emerges from a capsule toy machine during a bread purchase and commands him to gather all seven of her sisters for battles against adversaries such as Suigintou, who aims to dominate the world. This premise piqued my curiosity, and I’d recommend it if you enjoy a mix of humor and occasional fight scenes.

32. ‘Spirited Away’ (2001)

Ultimately, ‘Spirited Away’ by Studio Ghibli is one of my all-time favorite films! The humor was fantastic, but what truly stood out was the developing friendship between Chihiro. Upon moving to a new town with her parents, she gets separated from them after they transform into pigs while consuming food in the spirit realm. She then makes friends with Haku, who assists her in navigating this world to rescue her parents from permanent pig transformation. The narrative focuses on Alexandre Dumas’ namesake novel, centering around Edmond Dantès, a young man wrongfully imprisoned. Using cunning strategies, he managed to break free and adopted the identity of The Count of Monte Cristo. With this new persona, he embarks on a quest for vengeance against those who deceived him. This animated series shares an intriguing similarity with another renowned work – James Cameron’s Avatar, as some viewers have pointed out.

30. ‘Fate/Zero’ (2011-2012)

Fate/Zero serves as a precursor to Fate/stay night, delving into the Fourth Holy Grail War that unfolds in Fuyuki City. I’d recommend watching this after experiencing the entire original series, such as UBW (Unlimited Blade Works) and HF (Heaven’s Feel). This will enhance your understanding of the plot. The anime is derived from Gen Urobuchi’s book titled “Fate/Zero,” which features illustrations by Takashi Takeuchi and writing by Kinoko Nasu. Yuki Kajiura composes the music for this series. By the way, did you know that in the Holy Grail War, there are characters who might appear as superheroes to some viewers? Some people believe that Fate/Zero surpasses its predecessor in quality.

29. ‘Ergo Proxy’ (2006)

‘Ergo Proxy’s narrative revolves around a contrived world overseen by just three entities, whose primary function is to suppress any rebellious tendencies among the populace. If someone dares to rebel, these organizations swiftly intervene. However, their methods are questionable as they infringe upon personal freedom and manipulate history to uphold the Monad’s image.

One method employed by these organizations is the creation of autonomous robots resembling humans, called Autoreivs. These robots were designed to address labor shortages resulting from a declining human population. Their purpose is to locate humans. They identify individuals based on factors like hair color, eye color, gender, voice print, and body temperature.’

28. ‘Akuma No Riddle’ (2014)

In the intriguing series ‘Akuma No Riddle’, we delve into a world where assassination is not only permissible but also turned into a sport by the wealthy. Schools have been established for this very purpose, housing numerous gifted female students. Some of these students have benefited from private tutoring while others are being groomed by the 26 “Death Teachers”. Failure to claim a life results in expulsion.

Upon enrollment at this peculiar school, a new student named Haru Ichinose arrives. Not long after her arrival, an assassination tournament unfolds throughout the entire school, with the instigator remaining a mystery. As Haru grapples with the challenge of surviving both physically and morally, she soon discovers that there’s far more to this institution than meets the eye, as each student harbors their own hidden darkness.

27. ‘Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood’ (2009-2010)

Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse Elric embark on an alchemy experiment with a heart-wrenching objective – to revive their late mother. However, due to a disastrous turn of events, they lose their alchemy abilities permanently. The animation in this series, produced by Studio Bones (known for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and other projects), is nothing short of outstanding.

Brotherhood – it’s available on Netflix!

26. ‘Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet’ (2013)

Gargantia – A Rediscovered World (Dubbed Anime)

Gargantia tells the tale of a youthful protagonist, finding himself stranded in an unfamiliar universe. As he navigates this alien planet, his journey involves adapting to the new circumstances and surroundings. This anime offers complex themes that might appeal to those who appreciate deep, thought-provoking narratives.

25. ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ (1996-1998)

Titled ‘Rurouni Kenshin’, this captivating anime chronicles the journey of its protagonist, Himura Kenshin, as he strives to rebuild his life post his role in avenging his family’s honor during Japan’s revolutionary era. If you’re a history enthusiast, then this is an anime tailor-made for you! It provides a stark portrayal of the hardships endured by many during that time and offers insight into the immense amount of violence Japan experienced.

24. ‘Naruto Shippuden’ (2007-2017)

‘Naruto Shippuden’ is a collection of episodes that chronicles Naruto’s journey and the growth of his friends into powerful ninjas. This anime series stands out for me due to its flexibility – you can watch it without following a strict sequence, either entire episodes or just selected clips. While the English dubbed version isn’t flawed, I find other series like Samurai Champloo, Soul Eater, and Dragon Ball Z (with numerous seasons) offer a better viewing experience.’

23. ‘The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya’ (2006-2009)

Often regarded as the finest English-dubbed anime series ever made, this Japanese production stands out due to its blend of popular genres such as supernatural and everyday life. For instance, the primary character deviates from typical male self-insert leads who triumph through strength or compassion in every situation; instead, he is an ordinary individual with no extraordinary abilities. The supporting characters are also skillfully crafted, contributing significantly to the narrative rather than serving as stereotypical character tropes for others to interact with.

22. ‘Nothing’ (2001)

A Japanese anime that aired for just three months could still be deemed an artistic masterpiece. Its storyline is quite sparse, its characters might not be particularly likable, but its art style sets it apart uniquely. If you appreciate the films of Stanley Kubrick and the works of David Lynch, then this anime would appeal to your tastes.

21. ‘Angel Beats!’ (2010)

In the realm beyond life, I find myself amidst a cast of characters who’ve lost their pasts, all living out an existence in a high school setting – that’s the fascinating world of ‘Angel Beats!’. Upon awakening here, I met a remarkable girl named Yuri, the leader of a rebellious group called the SSS (Shinda Sekai Sensen). This band of spirits is locked in a struggle against an enigmatic figure known as Angel.
