It’s been reported by Daily Mail that Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, is said to be the source who disclosed claims about Blake Lively supposedly threatening to reveal private text messages belonging to Taylor. Apparently, Scott shared this information with Justin Baldoni’s team as a way of potentially avoiding a subpoena for his daughter.
According to an anonymous source, Scott Swift chose to disclose the requested details in exchange for Baldoni’s team dropping their subpoena aimed at Taylor. This was done out of concern for his daughter not getting caught up any deeper in the situation.
The disputed event is connected to the ongoing lawsuits involving Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. In court papers, Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman stated that Lively’s attorney Michael Gottlieb reached out to Taylor Swift’s legal team (Venable) with a request.
Freedman claimed that Gottlieb pressured Taylor Swift to publicly support Blake Lively and hinted that if she didn’t, private conversations between them might become public knowledge. Moreover, he suggested that Lively had asked Swift to erase those messages.
In his affidavit, Freedman backed up his statements, mentioning that a person with connections to Taylor Swift had disclosed this information during a lengthy conversation over the phone. At that point, the identity of Scott Swift remained undisclosed.
Gottlieb firmly refuted the accusations in a statement to Page Six, stating his team flatly dismissed the charges. He labeled them as unfounded and originating from anonymous sources. Simultaneously, a confidant of Freedman informed Daily Mail that there were allegations that Blake Lively’s team had tried to intimidate Taylor Swift by threatening to disclose confidential data.
In the midst of the ongoing dispute, it’s said that Taylor’s partner, Travis Kelce, removed Ryan Reynolds from his Instagram followers list, potentially indicating a growing divide between them.
Contrary to rumors suggesting otherwise, Taylor Swift has clearly stated that she had no part in the It Ends With Us drama. Her representative clarified that she was never on the movie’s set, played no role in casting or creative decisions, didn’t compose the music, and only watched the film after it was publicly released, weeks following its premiere.
Later on, Baldoni chose not to enforce the subpoena against Swift. According to a source who spoke to Page Six, the subpoena became unnecessary when the required information was given willingly, implying that Scott Swift’s assistance might have contributed to the change in plans.
