Saoirse Ronan and her husband Jack Lowden are set to become parents for the first time, according to reports from people close to them. The Irish Independent announced this exciting development, happening just under a year since their private wedding in Edinburgh.
31-year-old Ronan and his 34-year-old partner Lowden are said to be overjoyed about the upcoming event. The pair initially crossed paths in 2018 during the filming of “Mary Queen of Scots”, where Ronan embodied the title character and Lowden portrayed her second spouse, Lord Darnley. The on-screen connection between them soon transformed into a genuine romance.
Previously, Lowden has publicly lauded Ronan, describing her as a “powerful natural force” and an exceptional leader in interviews. Ronan reciprocated the praise, expressing to Harper’s Bazaar that his compliments held significant value compared to others. In a 2023 conversation with British Vogue, the Little Women actress expressed her long-standing desire for marriage and parenthood, feeling now prepared to embark on motherhood without compromising her career.
The pair live in a €2.8 million house in Islington, north London, along with their terrier named Fran. Additionally, Ronan possesses a coastal property in Ballydehob, west Cork. In unison, they co-produced the 2024 film adaptation of “The Outrun,” where Ronan acted. She referred to Lowden as “more composed” and her “guiding wisdom” during creative partnerships.
Since their last on-screen collaboration in Mary Queen of Scots, Ronan has hinted at a potential future theatrical venture with Lowden. He mentioned that he was convinced by her that it would be an excellent idea.
