I shared an intriguing photo on social media, revealing me dressed in a muscle suit and sporting peculiar markings on my face – these are actually for computer-generated imagery (CGI). As you might infer from this setup, it’s likely that Robert Downey Jr., being the wearer of those dots, will have his Doctor Doom character’s face appear disfigured during post-production.

Although the video isn’t available online yet, information about it comes from Chris Gore of Film Threat. As per what has been shared online, Gore attended the Disney event and made these remarks during his appearance on the Nerdrotic YouTube channel:
In “Doomsday,” Doctor Doom sports an armor-clad body and bears a scarred visage, reminiscent of classic Universal horror films.
Disfigured Doom lines up with the Secret Wars comics
The events depicted in the description align with the “Secret Wars” comics published in 2015, where it’s revealed that Doctor Doom’s face is disfigured. This is shown on page #3 of the comic. Noteworthy is that post this comic event, Doom’s face gets restored, leading him to take on the role of “Infamous Iron Man.” Chris Claremont, a writer for X-Men, has shared that Robert Downey Jr. portrays four characters in both “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars”: films.
Have you come across the advertisement for the current Marvel film production featuring 50 superheroes and 4 supervillains, which isn’t exactly an X-Men movie but has a similar vibe? According to recent updates, the launch of “Avengers: Doomsday” has been rescheduled from May 1st, 2023, to December 18th, 2026.
Avengers: Secret Wars is moving from May 7 to December 17, 2027.
