Wow, this comes as a major surprise! We at TopMob truly appreciated the third and final season of “The Wheel of Time” on Prime Video. The show was brimming with powerful female characters, intriguing queer storylines, captivating fantasy elements, and much more. However, it’s been announced that Prime Video won’t renew “The Wheel of Time” for a fourth season, effectively ending the series at its third installment. It’s unfortunate to see that even with Prime Video hosting “The Rings of Power” and “The Wheel of Time” being such a well-known franchise, it didn’t secure its long-term future. Nowadays, not many shows get to conclude on their own terms, I suppose. All we can do is express our sadness over the cancellation of “The Wheel of Time.
The TV show ‘Wheel of Time’ is based on Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson’s famous book series. This production is overseen by showrunner Rafe Judkins and features Rosamund Pike. The show was quite popular, and in 2021, it ranked among the top 5 series premieres on Amazon Prime Video. Unfortunately, recent news from Amazon Prime Video states that they have chosen to end the series, despite Sony TV and Amazon continuing to support its Emmy campaign for season three.
It’s rare these days for cancellations to catch us off guard… But the cancellation of “The Wheel of Time” truly did. Given the urgent need for queer narratives led by women and other underrepresented groups, canceling the series feels like a setback. For those who still want to see it, all seasons of “The Wheel of Time” are now available on Prime Video.
