Ubisoft has officially announced their participation in Gamescom 2025, with a key emphasis expected on their forthcoming city-builder game, Anno 117: Pax Romana, as confirmed through an Instagram post by the event organizers.
It’s not really unexpected – Anno 117 stands out as one of Ubisoft’s major upcoming games, and the city-builder series has a significant fanbase in Germany. This popularity can be attributed to both the genre being well-liked in the country and the franchise being developed by Ubisoft’s studios near Cologne, making it almost like a hometown game for Anno.
The specific details about what else Ubisoft will present at the event remain unclear, but it’s possible that upcoming Summer Game Fest showcases could disclose a few additional titles from Ubisoft, which might be displayed in Cologne. However, some of Ubisoft’s major games have been postponed for further development.
117, slated for release in winter 2025, aims to maintain the series’ robust pace by constructing and significantly broadening upon the framework established by Anno 1800.
In a follow-up announcement, it has been confirmed that Ubisoft will be the second major video game publisher to participate in Gamescom 2025, which is scheduled from August 20 to 24, 2025 – a highly anticipated event in the gaming world.
