Actors from “Jane the Virgin”, Brett Dier, recently commented on the escalating legal conflict between his former co-star Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Speaking to Fan Mail in a May 22nd interview, Dier expressed that the situation appears to be very intense.
I’ve always admired Justin deeply.” Additionally, he expressed his hope that “everything will sort itself out eventually, as Justin has always been a wonderful friend to me.
During their stint on Jane the Virgin, Dier and Baldoni developed a strong bond. In this show, Dier portrayed Michael Cordero, while Baldoni took up the role of Rafael Solano. The CW program ran from 2014 until 2019.
Despite wrapping up six years back, actor Dier shared that he remains connected with several of his ex-cast members from Jane the Virgin. Looking back, he described the experience as an exhilarating journey.
In August 2024, Dier was spotted openly endorsing Baldoni during the premiere of his movie “It Ends With Us” in cinemas. Accompanying him at the event was Yael Grobglas, who portrayed Petra on the show and was Baldoni’s former on-screen spouse.
Grobglas raved about her amazing friend Justin Baldoni’s movie on Instagram, admitting she shed quite a few tears. Trying to conceal her emotions, she may not have succeeded. She also shared a picture with Dier from the theater, expressing her pride and affection by saying, ‘I am so proud of you, dear friend!’
The movie titled “It Ends With Us,” directed and acted by Justin Baldoni, is currently embroiled in a legal dispute. In December 2024, Blake Lively lodged a sexual harassment allegation against Baldoni. She claimed he fostered an uncomfortable work atmosphere and inflicted ‘significant emotional harm’ during the filming process.
Baldoni has refuted all accusations and retaliated with a $400 million lawsuit filed against Lively, her spouse Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane. He alleged that they sought to tarnish his reputation by disseminating manipulated and unsubstantiated information.
Ryan Reynolds and his legal team have requested the court to throw out the defamation accusation made by Alec Baldwin. According to the lawyers Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, in a statement to Us Weekly in March, the entirety of Baldwin’s case appears to hinge on Reynolds allegedly privately labeling Baldwin as a ‘predator.’
They noted that “Mr. Reynolds’ statement isn’t being challenged for him not genuinely believing it to be accurate.” Similarly, Reynolds’ group mentioned that Baldoni has publicly admitted to his history of treating women unfairly and testing the limits of consent in the past.
In response, Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, asserted that Reynolds had an active part in the incident, reportedly pressuring WME to let go of Baldoni and collaborating in organizing a plan to harm Baldoni’s professional reputation.
