Michael Douglas Says MCU Return as Hank Pym Is Unlikely

The extensive cast of “Avengers: Doomsday” required Marvel to spend numerous hours displaying chairs during a live stream just to cover all its members, and it’s worth noting that there are still more revelations on the horizon! Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that we’ll see Hank Pym again, as Michael Douglas, the star of “Ant-Man,” recently indicated to Deadline that he may have finished his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Douglas shared that he had the opportunity and was thrilled about it, he explained. Notably, Douglas requested Hank Pym’s character to be written out in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” but this didn’t occur. Instead, Hank resumed his normal life at home after returning.

In the grand scheme of things, I, a devoted cinephile, have noticed that beyond his Marvel Cinematic Universe roles as Hank Pym, Douglas has mostly stepped away from the limelight to manage a production company instead. At 80 years old, he’s earned the right to make his own choices after a spectacularly successful career in the film industry.

Actress Evangeline Lilly, known for her role as Hope in the series, is also choosing to take a break from acting to spend more time with family. This means it’s not certain that we’ll witness this family together again on screen. However, if Michelle Pfeiffer decides to reprise her role as Janet and team up with Paul Rudd in the Ant-Man series, there might be a possibility of their return. We’ll just have to wait and see.
