The global gaming giant known as Embracer Group, which has numerous employees worldwide, has revealed its intention to release 76 additional games in the not-too-distant future. Additionally, they’ve shared that their company name will soon change to Fellowship Entertainment.
In their recent financial update, the company announced that these 76 games will encompass a variety of new concepts, follow-ups, and revamped versions. Among them are Metal Eden, the updated Gothic game, Reanimal, Wreckreation, the upcoming SpongeBob title, Norse: Oath of Blood, Killing Floor 3, and the recently postponed Marvel 1943: Ryse of Hydra.
For the game Ryse of Hydra, specifically, Embracer Group stated that while it’s expected to generate significant income, its profitability will be somewhat limited compared to other titles, given that it shares economic aspects with multiple collaborating partners for this high-profile licensed game.
These games will be launched during the fiscal year spanning from April 1st, 2025, to March 31st, 2026.
A big AAA game delay
As a gamer, I’m pumped to share that my favorite game studio has got two massive titles lined up for release by the end of March 2026. We’re talking about Killing Floor 3 and Rise of Hydra! Initially, they aimed to launch a third AAA game during that period as well, but they’ve mentioned today that they require a bit more time to perfect it. So, instead, we can expect this game to drop in the FY 2026/2027 window – that’s from April 1st, 2026, to March 31st, 2027.
The specific nature of this upcoming game is yet unknown, but the company hinted that its financial performance could resemble that of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a highly successful game which has already sold over 3 million units.
In the future, the company anticipates unveiling nine additional AAA titles over the fiscal years 2026/2027 and 2027/2028. It’s important to note that these numbers do not include games funded by partners. Embracer Group hinted that one or a few of these games might be postponed until the fiscal years 2028-2029, but overall, they expressed increased confidence in their ability to launch more than one AAA game per year going forward.
A name change and other updates
Moving ahead, the business will now be recognized as Fellowship Entertainment, replacing its earlier working title Middle Earth & Friends. The management has clarified that this change in name is not related to any criticism the company has faced over its recent staff reductions, game cancellations, and the $1 billion investment from the Saudi government.
We’re extremely pleased with all that we’ve accomplished while being part of Embracer, and deeply appreciative of the backing and faith shown to us throughout the years. As we venture into becoming an independently traded company, there’s a sense of exhilaration, and yes, a touch of nervousnessbut in a positive manner,” stated Embracer about its name change.
Approximately 6,000 workers will be distributed across approximately 30 nations as part of Fellowship Entertainment, who will manage the commercial licenses for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, in addition to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Metro, Dead Island, Killing Floor, Darksiders, Tomb Raider, Remnant, and many other popular franchises.
Fellowship Entertainment has a diverse portfolio, encompassing numerous companies such as 4A Games, Aspyr Media, CrazyLabs, Crystal Dynamics, Dambuster Studios, Dark Horse, Deca Games, Eidos-Montréal, Flying Wild Hog, Gunfire Games, Limited Run Games, Middle-earth Enterprises, Milestone, PLAION, Tarsier Studios, THQ Nordic, Tripwire Interactive, Vertigo Games, Warhorse Studios, and over forty more.
