In the seventh episode of ‘The Dinner Table Detective,’ titled ‘There Is No Such Thing as a Completely Locked Room File 1,’ the story began with painter Keizan Matsushita being mortally stabbed in his workshop. Reiko and Kazamatsuri questioned potential witnesses: freelance journalist Maki Nakazoto and Keizan’s relative Misaki Aihara. Just before he passed away, Keizan indicated towards the “sleeping beauty” depicted in his mural.
1. His wife and son seemed unconcerned about his passing.
2. At first, Misaki asserted that she was the model for the mural, later accusing Shoko Sasano (a woman who went missing and had links to art fraud) of being responsible.
3. Reiko managed to convince Kageyama to assist with the investigation.
4. The episode concluded as Kageyama dropped by the scene, only for Kazamatsuri to make an unexpected reappearance.
In Episode 8 of “The Dinner Table Detective,” Reiko and Kageyama persist in probing the enigma surrounding Keizan’s demise, zeroing in on the cryptic mural he had pointed out. Kageyama will then recognize this mural as a vital clue essential for solving the intricate locked-room conundrum.
Following his statement that “no room can be completely hidden,” they will uncover a secret passage within the studio. As Reiko investigates it, she stumbles upon a cryptic woman wielding a knife. With no escape in sight, Reiko prepares herself with a baton. This episode will unfold the reasons behind the woman’s insanity and the significance of Keizan’s final action.
