Following David Zaslav’s remarks regarding Wonder Woman, James Gunn hinted that there are actually plans brewing for the character, Princess of Themyscira, within the DC Universe.
What did James Gunn say?
After the latest “Superman” trailer was unveiled a week ago, a fan inquired about any recent developments concerning Wonder Woman on Gunn’s social media platform, “Threads”.
Gunn replied, “Not to be shared publicly yet but yes. Encouraging.”
What did David Zaslav say?
According to the latest report from Gunn, the positive news comes after David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, highlighted Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, and Supergirl during a recent conference call with investors.
Zaslav said these four characters will be the “pillars” and “asset-builders” of the DCU.

Wonder Woman updates
As we previously went over, there hasn’t been much said about Wonder Woman as of late.
Gunn unveiled plans for a “Paradise Lost” TV series within the DC Universe, but details about it are scarce. Apart from “Lanterns”, it appears that none of the current DCU television projects are actively underway, such as “Booster Gold” and “Waller”.
There is also that Wonder Woman video game, but it’s been claimed to be canceled.
Who should play the DCU Wonder Woman?
It’s plausible that Gunn could be playfully hinting at changes in the Wonder Woman DCU casting, since it seems that Gal Gadot may have completed her tenure with the role following the upcoming release of “Superman” this summer.

Adria Arjona, who starred in Star Wars: Andor, was also questioned about portraying Wonder Woman. James Gunn previously cast her in The Belko Experiment. In an interview with Cinema Blend, she said, “He gave me my debut film…my first studio role. I owe him a lot. I admire James Gunn…I’m not sure.
