Disney-Pixar confirms that comedian Conan O’Brien has joined the cast for “Toy Story 5,” taking on the role of a fresh character within the series called Smarty Pants.
On social media, Conan O’Brien humorously shared that his initial wish was to portray either Woody or Buzz Lightyear, but learned that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen would be reprising their roles for these parts instead.
However, Conan O’Brien likes Smarty Pants better and says it’s the best character in the movie.
Conan O’Brien playing Smarty Pants also fits with the plot description, teasing the toys meet tech.

Andrew Stanton, known for helming movies like “A Bug’s Life,” “Finding Nemo,” and “Wall-E,” is teaming up with McKenna Harris, an animator from “Ralph Breaks the Internet” project, on a new production. Notably, Stanton is also taking charge of the scriptwriting for this upcoming project.

It took quite an effort, but after around two hours, I was able to work on Buzz. Honestly, I feel incredibly fortunate to be portraying Buzz Lightyear. I believe the fun is just beginning, and it seems we’re about a year away from completion. I’ve advanced up to the third act so far, and once that’s done, we’ll go back and polish it. After that, I’ll perform the third act another four or five times. This story is truly excellent, folks!
