Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 The Night-Mare Walkthrough and Secrets Revealed

In the extra content package known as “Brushes with Death” DLC for the game “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2“, the fifth mission, titled “The Night-Mare“, unfolds within Kuttenberg. Players can initiate this quest following the completion of “Portrait in Red”. Upon wrapping up Portrait in Red, Master Votya mentions his return to Kuttenberg. You’ll locate him in his residence, which lies to the east of the western gate. Regrettably, Master Votya’s art commission for Sedletz Monastery has been nabbed by an old adversary named Bellissimo.

How To Get Dirt On Bellissimo – The Night-Mare – KCD2

When considering ways to retrieve Votya’s commission, the most promising approach seems to be digging up some information about Bellissimo. Since he resides at the bathhouse near the horse market in the south-west corner of Kuttenberg, players should visit there and speak with Beatrice, the madam. She may express dissatisfaction with Bellissimo and suggest that Henry investigate his room as a potential search location. Although she cannot explicitly authorize Henry to rummage around, she does propose a clever strategy: spending time with one of the girls to gain access to the upper floor.

Finding Bellissimo’s Room

The instructions to find Bellissimo’s room are as follows:

  • Inside the bathhouse, head up the main stairs.
  • At the top of the stairs, there’s a locked door on the left.
  • Once inside, head up the wooden stairs.
  • At the top of the wooden stairs, Bellissimo’s room is the first on the right and locked.

It’s more advantageous to accomplish this task during the night when everyone is asleep. Bypassing the initial steps, you might find it helpful to request the complete set from the bathhouse, since Henry or one of the maids will head upstairs afterwards.

The Evidence In Bellissimo’s Room

As you step into Bellissimo’s room, glance towards your left side, and you’ll spot a wooden cabinet. Atop this cabinet, you’ll find a letter from the monastery that you can read.

Steal Bellissimo’s alcohol from his room now to save yourself time later.

That is all that is required, so head back to Votya’s house in the morning with the evidence.

Gather Items For Henry’s Devil Disguise – The Night-Mare – KCD2

Votya intends to make Bellissimo believe he’s encountering a terrifying figure by having Henry disguise himself as a devil. For this, Henry will have to locate the necessary items.

  • Bascinet with a visor: Consider finding a cheap helmet, as its appearance will be changed. None of the Kuttenberg Armorers sell cheap, low-quality helmets, so the best thing to do is look for bandits on the road and take theirs.
  • 3 Torches: A general trader, a few buildings west of Votya’s house, sells 2 torches, and there’s another trader next to the Hangman’s Halter Tavern.
  • 5 Eggs: The baker along the same street and to the east of Votya’s house sells 6 eggs.

Of course, such things could also end up being taken illegally or discovered abandoned, like eggs that might be pilfered from a hen house or found nestled in a nesting spot.

After gathering all necessary items, head back to Votya’s residence to proceed with The Night-Mare quest. Delivering these items to Votya will bestow Spooking Equipment upon Henry.

How To Get Bellissimo Drunk – The Night-Mare – KCD2

If Bellissimo runs out of his own supply of alcohol, he’ll only drink downstairs at the bathhouse. So, in order for Henry to obtain it, he needs to go back to Bellissimo’s room and take it.

Steal Bellissimo’s Alcohol From His Room

As an ardent admirer, I shall employ the same cunning tactics to gain access to Bellissimo’s chamber. However, the task at hand is more intricate – instead of entering the room itself, I must find a way to penetrate his chest!

You have two options: either sneak his keys from him while he’s sleeping or open the chest with a lockpick. Inside, you’ll find five items. Take them all.

Get Drunk With Bellissimo In The Bathhouse

Once it’s past 9 PM, players will receive a notice about their objective, which allows them to head over to the bathhouse tavern for a drink with Bellissimo.

To initiate, you could simply engage him in conversation first. During this interaction, players will have several dialogue choices, but the majority won’t impact the story significantly. Later on, the goal will either be to persuade Bellissimo to drink alone or for Henry to attempt stealthily pouring out his own drink. Ultimately, the objective is for Henry to maintain sobriety as much as possible.

Getting Bellissimo Back To His Workshop

Eventually, Bellissimo might become so intoxicated that he collapses and lies unconscious on the floor. Later, carefully pick him up and take him to his workshop, which functions as a destination here. Remember to set him down before you reach the doorway.

Other scenarios could unfold at this point, with Bellissimo potentially returning to his workshop on his own.

Once you drop Bellissimo inside his workshop, the scaring can begin.

Scaring Bellissimo

Henry will effortlessly don his devilish attire without any need for action on his part, and the majority of the frightening dialogue is scripted automatically. You won’t have to decide which of Bellissimo’s minor transgressions to address first, as you’ll have the opportunity to tackle the others later. These include drinking and telling lies. But when it comes to the test, it might be most convenient to pick:

  • You betrayed a friend! – To have this option, players must have talked to Beatrice at the bathhouse and found out more.

After Bellissimo has been effectively frightened and flees, players should make their way back to Votya to conclude The Night-Mare quest. Luckily, this is not the final quest within the Brushes with Death series, and players can inquire about new quests from Master Votya to proceed further.
