Halle Bailey now has temporary legal and living arrangements for her 17-month-old son, Halo Saint. Previously, she accused her former boyfriend and rapper DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) of physical, verbal, emotional, and financial mistreatment.
Based on court documents recently reported by People, the actress who played Ariel in ‘The Little Mermaid’ at age 25 has been granted full custody of her son following a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. The child, named Halo, was born in December 2023 to the actress and rapper DDG, with whom she had been in a relationship from 2022 until 2024.
As a devoted admirer, I’m bound by a legal decree to maintain a distance of no less than 100 yards from both Bailey and their little one, my cherished idols, till our next encounter on June 4, 2025.
In her plea, Bailey proposed that DDG should not have unrestricted visitation privileges. Rather, she suggested the court consider approved supervised visits of six hours each week, facilitated by a professional agency, during times when Halo resides in Los Angeles.
In addition, Bailey requested the court to restrict DDG from taking Halo beyond Los Angeles County, and she applied for an order aimed at preventing any potential child kidnapping. She based her arguments on a history of abusive actions and cases where DDG is said to have concealed their child or refused to collaborate in shared parenting.
In Bailey’s petition, she stipulated that DDG should not accompany Halo on any journeys nor obtain or possess travel documents related to their son without her written consent. If travel is allowed, he must disclose the complete itinerary, round-trip tickets, and leave an open airline ticket for Bailey in case Halo fails to return.
In her court declaration, Bailey expressed that she had taken every reasonable step to prevent a court appearance, yet she could no longer tolerate the alleged mistreatment.
Bailey expressed that she had come to understand Darryl cannot be appeased. She could no longer tolerate the mistreatment, so she decided it was time for a change. She never knew when he would demand their son from her care or if she’d face his threats and abuse again.
The actress openly disclosed multiple instances claiming she endured physical abuse by DDG. She stated that back in January, her former boyfriend persistently labeled her a “vulgar term” while she was attempting to secure her son safely in a car seat within his vehicle.
In an unusual occurrence last March, I found myself in a situation where I asserted that someone had trespassed into my residence while I was away. This individual, allegedly DDG, sent me a photograph of my bedroom and a menacing message implying that I was involved in extra-marital relationships.
