After some time away from significant film roles, Gwyneth Paltrow is coming back to the big screen in the upcoming romantic drama “Marty Supreme,” alongside Timothée Chalamet. While their on-screen chemistry may spark, Paltrow openly discusses the reality of shooting those intense scenes. In a recent interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the Academy Award-winning actress referred to her kissing scenes with Chalamet as far from romantic, labeling them “very technical” and “similar to choreography, but involving tongues.
52-year-old Paltrow plays Chalamet’s love interest in the movie “Marty Supreme,” previously mentioned as having “a lot of explicit scenes.” During discussions about filming such scenes, she admitted that the experience can feel “strange” and devoid of genuine emotion. She explained, “You’re kissing someone you aren’t romantically involved with. There’s no love. It’s highly technical.” Barrymore added that it’s similar to getting intimate with a coworker, to which Paltrow agreed, saying it’s like “a choreographed dance, but with tongues.
Regarding the professional filming environment, Paltrow commended Chalamet highly. She referred to him as a “wonderful young man,” praised his politeness, acknowledged his great talent, and expressed delight in working alongside him.
Marty Supreme represents Gwyneth Paltrow’s first significant role since the release of Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
