What is Superman about?
As a follower, I’m excited to share that I’ll be part of the global audience this summer, as “Superman,” the debut feature film from DC Studios, graces the big screen, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures. In his unique approach, James Gunn breathes new life into the original superhero in a revamped DC universe, combining action, humor, and heartfelt moments to present a Superman who’s guided by compassion and an unwavering faith in humanity’s goodness.
Who stars?
In this film, David Corenswet, known for “Twisters” and “Hollywood,” plays both Superman and Clark Kent. Rachel Brosnahan from “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” takes on the role of Lois Lane, while Nicholas Hoult, famous for his work in the “X-Men” movies and “Juror #2,” portrays Lex Luthor. The cast also includes Edi Gathegi (“For All Mankind”), Anthony Carrigan (“Barry,” “Gotham”), Nathan Fillion (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series, “The Suicide Squad”), Isabela Merced (“Alien Romulus”), Skyler Gisondo (“Licorice Pizza,” “Booksmart”), Sara Sampaio (“At Midnight”), María Gabriela de Faría (“The Moodys”), Wendell Pierce (“Selma,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”), Alan Tudyk (“Andor”), Pruitt Taylor Vince (“Bird Box”), and Neva Howell (“Greedy People”).
This version maintains the original meaning while making it easier to read and understand, using simpler sentence structures and more common phrasing.
Behind the movie
In this project, it’s Peter Safran and Gunn who are serving as producers, with Gunn himself taking on the directorial role from a script he penned himself. This film is inspired by characters originating from DC Comics, and Superman, a creation of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
As a true cinema enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the upcoming “Superman” film is overseen by executive producers Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther. Behind the scenes, Gunn works alongside his trusted collaborators like director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, composer John Murphy, and composers David Fleming (“The Last of Us”) and a pair of editors, William Hoy (“The Batman”) and Craig Alpert (“Deadpool 2,” “Blue Beetle”). It’s going to be an incredible ride!
