In the sequel titled ‘The Person Who Dropped It Is A VTuber File 2,’ the caretaker disclosed that Kurumi had asked for monitoring in the hallway. This led to a confrontation between Reiko, Kazamatsuri, and Kurumi as she couldn’t provide an alibi for Kobayashi’s demise. The story delved into her streaming background, which stemmed from self-esteem problems. Additionally, it was pointed out that despite having throat troubles, she frequently consumed spicy food, a detail noticed by Kageyama.
While probing the situation, it was discovered that Kurumi’s stalker was lurking outside her apartment. Kageyama clarified that this individual intended to manipulate Kurumi into causing harm to herself. Reiko’s plan proved successful, leading to the apprehension of Kazuhisa Okada. It turned out that he mistakenly believed there was a link between Kurumi and Kobayashi, murdered him in error, and was oblivious to the fact that she is a VTuber.
Following the conclusion of Kurumi’s case, The Dinner Table Detective in its seventh episode will present a fresh murder mystery starring Reiko and Kazamatsuri. Despite Kageyama unraveling crucial aspects, Kazamatsuri remains oblivious to his part in it. This state of ignorance might persist.
In the upcoming mystery, there’s a strong possibility that Reiko will find herself deeply involved, perhaps putting her identity at risk, a topic hinted at but not fully explored since the series started. This new case could also escalate the underlying tension among Reiko, Kageyama, and Kazamatsuri, leading to a more conflict-ridden dynamic between them.
In Japan, Episode 7 of The Dinner Table Detective is set to premiere at 11:30 pm JST on Friday, May 16th, 2025. For viewers worldwide, the episode should become available later that same day, with the timing adapted to suit different time zones.
In Japan, the seventh episode of ‘The Dinner Table Detective’ (or ‘The After-Dinner Mysteries’) will make its debut on Fuji TV initially, and then on AT-X at a later time. Starting from this week, you can stream it exclusively on Amazon Prime Video with English subtitles.
