Legally Blonde Prequel Series Elle Adds Chloe Wepper, David Burtka, and More to Cast

In the upcoming prequel for Amazon Prime Video titled Elle, focusing on Elle Woods’ high school years, five new guest stars have joined the expanding cast. These include Chloe Wepper, David Burtka, Brad Harder, Kayla Maisonet, and Lisa Yamada, as confirmed by Variety.

The movie is centered around Elle Woods during her teenage years, prior to her Harvard Law School adventure. In the leading role, we have Lexi Minetree. Accompanying her are June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker, Jessica Belkin, Logan Shroyer, and Amy Pietz. These newcomers boast a blend of comedic and dramatic skills from popular shows such as The Rookie, How I Met Your Mother, and Cruel Summer.

In the upcoming production, Chloe Wepper is set to portray Ms. Burke, a character who serves as both Elle’s high school chemistry teacher and cheerleading team choreographer. David Burtka steps into the role of Chad, Elle’s lively neighbor, with Brad Harder taking on the part of Charlie, Chad’s spouse. Lastly, Kayla Maisonet and Lisa Yamada will bring Tiffany and Amber to life, respectively – these being key figures in Elle’s high school social circle at Bel Aire.

In a private setting, Elle was given the green light in May 2024. It’s led by Laura Kittrell, who both creates and co-manages the show alongside Caroline Dries. Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter serve as executive producers through Hello Sunshine, with Marc Platt also involved as a producer. Jason Moore has agreed to direct the first two episodes. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

Refreshing newcomers and an energetic creative crew are set to deliver a lively, spirited portrayal of the early years of one of pop culture’s favorite figures, Elle.
