In a surprising turn of events, Kanye West levied accusations against his former spouse, Kim Kardashian, in a legal notice. The musician claimed that Kardashian put their eldest child, North, at risk by leaving her unattended in a car during the 2025 Met Gala.
Kathy Johnson, representing Kanye West, sent his attorney a legal notice, according to TMZ. This notice, referred to as a ‘cease and desist‘ letter, was centered around the well-being of his minor children: North West, Saint West, Chicago West, and Psalm West.
In the correspondence he penned, West claimed that Kardashians star breached his rights and the terms of their divorce agreement. He asserted that she took their eldest daughter to the Met Gala in New York City this week and left her unsupervised in a car for a significant part of the evening event.
Besides making accusations against his former spouse for limiting his contact with their shared four children, it appears that, as per the existing custody agreement, Kardashian does not hold the power to prevent regular access to them.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d share this information as follows: Back in 2021, a significant chapter in my life came to an end with the dissolution of my seven-year marriage. Following our divorce, my former partner and I were granted shared custody of our children. Additionally, I am obligated to make a monthly child support payment of $200,000.
West, in addition, alleged that Kardashian shared “pictures and videos” of their 11-year-old daughter on TikTok. Moreover, he stated that he has yet to meet his son, Saint, this year, and asserted that he was limited in his interaction with the other three children in an unfair manner.
Initially, I believed the assertion, but my conviction was shaken when paparazzi photos emerged showing Ye spending time with his children, including Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, in Japan as early as January. In that legal notice, the rapper alleged that North’s appearances on Kardashian’s social media and at public events were being exploited for personal or commercial gain. As a dedicated follower, I found these allegations troubling.
Kardashian’s legal team is yet to respond to the letter.
