Blake Lively to Testify in Trial Against Justin Baldoni, Actress’ Attorney Confirms: ‘Ultimate Moment For…’

Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of sexual harassment.

Blake Lively is set to take the stand and provide her account of events during Justin Baldoni‘s upcoming trial. Her lawyer has confirmed this, stating that she will present her version of the story once proceedings begin. Back in December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit accusing her It Ends With Us co-star of sexual harassment.

Originally, the actress from Jane the Virgin has responded to the defamation and extortion charges filed against her with a lawsuit of her own. Subsequently, the dispute transformed into a bitter feud between their public relations teams, according to the court, and escalated into a highly-publicized legal fight.

Mike Gottlieb, Lively’s attorney, shared with PEOPLE that the upcoming trial would mark a significant point where “the plaintiff’s story can finally be fully expressed.” He further mentioned that it is anticipated that she herself will serve as a witness during her trial, emphasizing that naturally, she will testify.

Discussion about the former Gossip Girl star’s testimony began in April following her speech at the TIME100 Gala. In this speech, she revealed her mother’s story of having survived an attack by a coworker, which occurred prior to her birth. The actress claimed that her mom miraculously survived the attempted murder.

She suggested she’d been through a comparable situation while filming for IEWU, as indicated by her statement, “I have so much to share about the past two years of my life.” The lawyer implied that the Simple Favor actress wouldn’t be the sole plaintiff testifying in court.

People who claim to have seen or experienced any kind of wrongdoing during the making of the movie are also scheduled to give testimonies in court. It’s anticipated that their accounts, specifically regarding what happened on set, will be presented through live testimony, as explained by Gottlieb.

During the upcoming trial, Lively’s legal team plans not to solely rely on testimonies from witnesses. Instead, they intend to utilize various forms of “evidence” they possess. They will also bring forth documents and statements from producers, Sony Pictures, as well as other eyewitnesses to bolster their case in court.

The trial is set to commence on March 9, 2026.
