Justin Baldoni’s Wayfarer Foundation is ceasing operations due to a persistent court case with Blake Lively. This disappointing update was disclosed by the foundation’s founder, Steve Sarowitz, who expressed his thoughts on Instagram.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my excitement about the monumental stride I’ve taken, the motivation behind which remains a tantalizing mystery. Yet, what I can unequivocally express is my profound appreciation towards the visionary board of directors and the pioneering members who embarked on this initiative from its inception. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in propelling me forward.
On social media, Sarowitz posted, “For the last four years, Wayfarer Foundation has backed numerous grantees in achieving their goals. I’m tremendously proud of the difference we’ve made and deeply thankful for our team, board, supporters, and collaborators.
The leader of the foundation shared that although the organization is closing, he personally intends to carry on the noble deeds and assist as many individuals as feasible.
According to a consensus reached by the board of directors, today marks the start of the phasing out of our Foundation. We’ll ensure that all existing grant obligations are fulfilled as we gradually shut down our activities over the coming weeks with due care.
Despite the Wayfarer Foundation shutting down, my personal dedication to philanthropy stays unwavering, and I’m determined to make a lasting impression on society by continuing its vision and efforts.
2021 saw the establishment of the Wayfarer Foundation, a venture initiated by Sarowitz and Baldoni. This organization focused on various aspects such as fostering economic stability, promoting gender equality, encouraging religious understanding, and empowering young people, to name a few.
Although the specific cause for the organization’s closure remains unknown, there are whispers suggesting that a legal dispute between the filmmaker and the actress from Another Simple Favor may have played a role in it.
The actor-director filed a case against Lively on the grounds of extortion and defamation.
