The head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hermen Hulst, unveiled a fresh first-party game development studio called teamLFG. According to Hulst, the founding members were previously part of Bungie, but since then, the team has expanded to incorporate numerous experienced developers from other studios such as Riot Games and Epic Games.
Hulst announced that the team is making concerted efforts to transform an exciting experimental project. As per teamLFG’s initial announcement, this venture entails creating a cooperative game, which combines elements from various genres such as fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life simulators, and games featuring frog-like characters. Players will find themselves in a humorous, comical world within an entirely new, imaginative, science-fantasy universe.
Based out of the gaming hub in Bellevue, Washington, I’m proud to be part of teamLFG – a dynamic team that blends in-person and virtual collaboration. Our talented crew spans across the United States and Canada, united by our passion for games and innovation.

Greetings, everyone! It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance and we’re thrilled to become part of the PlayStation Studios family.
As a passionate gamer and member of teamLFG, based out of Bellevue, WA, I’m part of an incredible team that works both on-site and remotely across the U.S. and Canada. This diverse group spans from industry veterans who have shipped hit titles like Destiny, Halo, League of Legends, Fortnite, Roblox, and Rec Room, to fresh talent brimming with innovative ideas and skills. Our shared passion lies in creating exceptional action-based gameplay, immersive social virtual worlds, and a moment-to-moment gaming experience that keeps players hooked.
The ‘LFG’ in our name stands for ‘Looking For Group.’ Our mission is to create games where gamers can find friendship, community, and belonging. We strive to make our games so engaging that players feel energized when they log on to find friends already online. We aim for our players to recognize familiar names, build shared memories, and create their own myths and memes. Our dream is for players to cherish those moments when they execute That Play that shifts the course of a match. As we say on the team – dat’s da good stuff!
We will craft immersive multiplayer worlds powered by action games that players can learn, play, and master for countless hours. Our approach is collaborative, inviting our community to be part of the development process through early access playtests. It’s essential for us to stay agile enough to adapt to player feedback, not just before launch but throughout the live service as we continuously grow the game and community over the years.
Our first game is a team-based action game that blends elements from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life sims, and frog-type games. Players will step into a lighthearted, comedic universe set in a brand-new, mythic, science-fantasy setting. We can’t wait to share more details soon!
‘Til then, we’ll do our best! Thanks for reading.”
