Peacemaker Strikes Again: Season 2 Teaser Debuts During ‘Inside the NBA’!

James Gunn and Peter Safran are actively working on launching a fresh cinematic universe centered around DC Comics characters, replacing the troubled DCEU. Notably, one project that made it through the “reboot” is James Gunn’s own ‘Peacemaker’, which is set to return for its second season and will now be part of this new DC Universe.

Co-CEO of DC Studios confirmed that ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 will be part of the DCU canon.

In the second season, John Cena joins forces with Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodriguez, David Denman, and Tim Meadows.

Or, in a more conversational tone: For the upcoming second season, John Cena teams up with Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodríguez, David Denman, and Tim Meadows.

Ahead of its official release on May 9th, snippets from the upcoming show’s teaser trailer have been accidentally leaked by Inside The NBA. You can watch these sneak peeks below.

The season was scheduled for February 2022. It was planned that James Gunn would pen and direct all eight episodes. Initially, filming was slated to begin in 2023. Nevertheless, due to his new role as co-CEO of DC Studios, Gunn shifted his focus towards the Superman (2025) film project instead.

Previously, Frank Grillo confirmed that the season will be “all about revenge.”

Filming took place at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia during the month of April. The complete filming process commenced in June and ran through to November 2024.

On August 21, 2025, the new season will debut on our streaming platform, Max, featuring a total of eight captivating episodes.
