Lady Gaga Beats THIS Record of Shakira to Attract Over 2 Million Fans at Free Brazil Concert on Copacabana Beach

2.1 million people gathered at Copacabana Beach in Brazil for Lady Gaga’s concert, setting a new attendance record. This event was part of the cultural initiative Todo Mundo no Rio. Previously, Shakira and Madonna held the record for attracting 1.6 million fans at this same venue when they performed “Joker: Folie à Deux” on Saturday morning. Lady Gaga surpassed that number during her show.

The performer continued to sing popular tunes from throughout her music career, such as Bad Romance, Poker Face, and Born This Way (from her latest album titled Mayhem). Interestingly, Gaga was spotted rehearsing at a beach location the day prior to her scheduled performance venue. From the stage during the rehearsal, the artist commented, “Even though this is just practice, it feels like I’m performing for real.

At the onset of the concert in Brazil, security measures were intensified. Over 5,000 staff members were stationed at entrances, exits, and around the stage. Additionally, drones and surveillance equipment were activated to monitor the attendees effectively.

During the concert, fans arrived dressed in outfits inspired by the artist’s music video costumes. Online enthusiasts arrived at the venue early in the morning and didn’t leave until late at night.

Based on news accounts, officials have verified that, aside from locals, approximately half a million tourists were part of the crowd at the concert as well. It’s worth noting that the event was a joint effort between Rio’s City Hall and private financial backers.

Lady Gaga, who is both an actress and a musician, will carry on with her Mayhem tour in the forthcoming concerts scheduled for South America and Europe. Last week’s show in Mexico of hers was also a resounding success.
