Ozzy Osbourne announces new brutally honest memoir after Black Sabbath farewell

Should fans assume that “Back to the Beginning” was Ozzy Osbourne’s final appearance, they were certainly mistaken. Embracing Dylan Thomas’s wisdom (“Rage against the dying of the light…”), the Heavy Metal pioneer clearly has more stories to tell, which he plans to do in his upcoming memoir.

To put it simply, despite being 76 years old, Ozzy has had an extraordinary life, as chronicled in his 2010 book “I Am Ozzy”, a critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller. This memoir reminisced about his youth spent in the Aston district of Birmingham, England, filled with Ozzy’s signature wit and accounts of hurdles he faced (many of which were self-created).

The next book titled “Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy: Advice from Rock’s Ultimate Survivor“, is a blend of health tips and a warning story (since Ozzy shared his long history of drug and alcohol struggles). Now that he’s retired from music, Ozzy will provide one last message in a memoir that his publisher describes as “shocking, bitingly humorous, surprisingly uplifting, painfully honest, and unapologetic” from the wild rock ‘n roll rebel.

Ozzy Osbourne announces new memoir Last Rites out In October

On July 10, it was announced that Ozzy Osbourne and Grand Central Publishing Group will release a new memoir titled “Last Rites“. This book promises to share the “shocking, darkly amusing, unprecedented account of Osbourne’s journey into turmoil.

The book, released on October 7, 2025, will detail Ozzy’s recent years, including the highs and lows, victories, struggles, and hardships he has experienced. It’ll provide an account of how, at the age of 69, Ozzy was forced to halt his “farewell tour” due to a staff infection that caused his right thumb to swell significantly, as he would recount to Rolling Stone.

The forthcoming memoir is expected to delve into “Ozzy’s stormy marriage with wife Sharon,” potentially shedding light on his infidelities with various women. Moreover, the book promises to recount Ozzy’s wild escapades alongside other notorious partygoers such as Slash, Bon Scott, John Bonham, and Keith Moon.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t wait to delve into the account of the poignant last moments Ozzy shared with Motorhead’s iconic Lemmy Kilmister, an unforgettable tale that has only recently unfolded. Moreover, “Last Rites” will offer insightful reflections from Ozzy on his journey Back to the Beginning, a remarkable venture that managed to gather millions for charitable causes.

In the press release, Osbourne is quoted as saying, “People ask me if, given the chance, would I change anything knowing what I know now? My answer is a definite no.” He explains that if he had led a clean and sober life or made normal, sensible choices, he wouldn’t be who he is today, Ozzy.

Well, if my journey ends soon, I won’t have any regrets,” he continues. “I’ve traveled extensively, witnessed many sights, and experienced both the good and the bad. At this moment, though, I’m not prepared to move on from where I am.
