In ‘Attack of the Eight Ogres,’ Onimaru undergoes a metamorphosis into a demon and conjures eight formidable ogres with the intention of attacking Yaiba and claiming the Raijinken. Meanwhile, as Yaiba embarks on his training regimen under Musashi, he grapples with self-doubt. However, Musashi motivates him to have confidence in himself.
With Onimaru taking over Japan’s administration, Yaiba and his companions encounter not one but two ogres. One decides to side with Yaiba, while the other is vanquished, albeit at the cost of losing Raijinken’s orb during the fight. Later on, Musashi unveils a previously unknown demonic sword that once belonged to Sasaki Kojiro.
In Episode 5, Yaiba and his companions embark on a journey to Ganryu Island to explore the demonic sword Monohoshizao, previously owned by Sasaki Kojiro, an old adversary of Musashi. Along their path, they encounter ‘Slug Man,’ one of the Eight Ogres, who attack them unexpectedly, causing exhaustion in the group.
Instead of hiding at Gero Hot Springs, they will find sanctuary there. An innkeeper with a questionable reputation will welcome them as their millionth guests, showering them with praise before inviting them to stay at his hot spring inn. As they unwind, a danger lurking in the shadows will move closer to them, intent on seizing the Thunder God Sword.
‘Titled “Rundown Hot Spring Inn,” Episode 5 of Yaiba is scheduled to premiere on May 3, 2025, at 5:30 pm Japanese Standard Time (JST). The show airs weekly every Saturday on channels such as Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV in Japan. For viewers in Japan, early streaming will be accessible on Netflix and ABEMA.’
