Justin Baldoni OPPOSES Marvel’s Request to be Removed from Blake Lively Lawsuit: ‘They Didn’t Confer With Us…’

Justin Baldoni has responded to Marvel’s petition, suggesting he withdraw from the current legal dispute involving Blake Lively. This action is due to growing apprehensions surrounding Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool character, known as Nicepool in this context.

On Monday, the legal team of the director of “It Ends With Us” sent a letter to the judge, requesting to dismiss the subpoena issued by the Wayfarer Parties and for a protective order. They added that Marvel had not made a genuine attempt to negotiate and resolve this dispute with them in good faith.

Baldoni’s legal team argued that Marvel Studios officials refused to resolve the issue over the phone, and they suggested that the lawyers were repeatedly cut off during their discussion.

In the letter, the lawyers clarified that instead of requesting all the documents as demanded by the subpoena, Marvel’s legal team inquired about specifically which documents they truly needed. This inquiry pertained to two areas:

1. The development and representation of Ryan Reynolds’ character from Deadpool & Wolverine, known as “Nicepool.”
2. The same for Justin Baldoni.

This means that Marvel wanted to know exactly which documents were relevant to these specific characters, not all documents related to any character or project they have ever worked on.

In regards to the studios, Marvel became involved in a lawsuit brought forth by Baldoni’s legal team, who alleged that Reynolds’ popular superhero film character was used to ridicule the filmmaker. The lawyers argued that the portrayal of Nicepool, featuring a man bun, no scars, and his lighthearted feminist humor in the movie, was a subtle form of criticism directed at Baldoni.

Earlier, the legal team representing the actor-director requested Kevin Feige and Disney Studios to safeguard any potential evidence relevant to the ongoing court proceedings as part of their legal dispute.
