I’ve just acquired the OcUK Gaming Inspire PC equipped with an RTX 5070Ti GPU, and I must say, the graphical quality in games has left me astonished compared to console gaming. With all the additional features activated and graphics set at their maximum, I’m experiencing full ray tracing at a steady frame rate, thanks to the DLSS technology, which significantly enhances my gaming experience.
It’s nostalgic, taking me back to when I first experienced an Xbox 360 and spent moments browsing through games, either to take a peek myself or share with friends. Truly, it felt like a significant advancement for my generation.
Regardless if you’ve got the newest Nvidia model or a card from the 40-series, these are the games that will let you flaunt your powerful new gaming setup.
Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
Indy performs exceptionally well on both the Xbox Series X and the hypothetical PS5 Pro, but neither can match its stunning display on a PC setup. On PC, with full path tracing enabled, every indoor scene accurately reflects light within the room, generating realistic reflections and accurate sun shadows. In contrast, the visual appeal of the Xbox Series X’s Indy game pales in comparison to even the lowest settings on PC, as it lacks vegetation and uses less sophisticated filtering methods, leading to lower-quality textures.
Cyberpunk 2077
In the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077, it seems like a completely new game, thanks to its high-tech city providing an ideal platform for demonstrating ray-traced reflections. Every window, sign, and puddle transforms into a mirror, echoing the neon-lit metropolis of Night City. The most straightforward method to observe these differences is by starting a game as a Corpo, where you initially find yourself in an office space filled with glass surfaces and polished floors. It’s quite striking, my friend.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Just like Indiana Jones himself, I find myself drawn to yet another console game that simply shines brighter on my PC setup. New York’s towering skyscrapers transform into gleaming mirrors, reflecting the vibrant city life beneath me as I soar past at breakneck speeds of 100mph. However, the reflections aren’t the only thing that catches my eye; every intricate detail in the opening sequence is crystal clear on PC. The Sandman’s sandstorm sweeps through the city, generating a haze of dust particles and leaving a gritty layer on my character’s suit, all while the intense battle unfolds around me.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Instead of holding out for a 60fps console update, consider running Red Dead Redemption 2 on your PC instead. The visuals are clearer than ever before, there’s no restriction on the draw distance, and the gunplay feels incredibly smooth with consistent high FPS rates.
Alan Wake 2
In a frustrating exclusive to the Epic Games Store, Alan Wake 2 serves as an impressive demonstration of natural ray-traced illumination. Despite its already ominous tone, the genuine indirect lighting from the sun adds another layer of realism and enhances its already eerie ambiance. What’s more, its smooth, consistent frame rate is a welcome bonus, particularly when compared to the jittery Quality Mode on consoles.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft’s latest masterpiece, is renowned for its stunning, expansive open world that truly comes alive with exceptional ray-traced global illumination on PC. This game offers some of the most realistic and beautiful wilderness in video games, thanks to its advanced lighting solution which creates lifelike shadows and illumination even down to the smallest details like individual tree leaves. To top it off, enabling the hair strands technology gives you some of the best-looking character hairstyles in gaming too!
