The film titled “Weapons” was initially slated for release on January 16, 2026, but it seems to have jumped ahead of schedule and will now grace our screens on August 8, 2025. Given this unexpected early arrival and the chilling trailer we’ve recently seen, we are confident that “Weapons” will be the must-see horror movie of summer 2025. This anticipation stems from the fact that Zach Cregger, who gave us the 2022 hit “Barbarian,” is behind this production – a film that kept audiences on the edge of their seats. From its trailer alone, “Weapons” has managed to evoke the same sense of tension, leaving us wondering: What mysterious circumstances led to the disappearance of Mrs. Gandy’s children? Or perhaps the more intriguing question is who might be held responsible for these vanishings? We’re eagerly looking forward to embarking on a dark and twisted journey to uncover the shocking truth.
Below you can find the complete trailer for the upcoming horror flick, “Weapons”, that we are eagerly anticipating! So buckle up and get ready for the scarefest!
There’s something wrong in Maybrook. #WeaponsMovie – only in theaters August 8.

There’s nothing quite like a child’s chilling narration setting the stage for a horror movie. And let me tell you, Mrs. Gandy entering an entirely deserted classroom in the Weapons trailer leaves us with goosebumps. It’s as if every other classroom is bustling, but yours has fallen eerily silent. Then, to add to the suspense, t That’s not even considering the blood splattering, fork stabbing, possessed figures darting about, and the relentless screams we witness in brief glimpses throughout the Weapons trailer. Our hearts are racing, but our excitement is through the roof.
As a captivated viewer, I can’t help but be drawn to the haunting poster that accompanies the Weapons trailer. It seems to tell a story, almost like a chilling bedtime tale. The words, “Last night, at 2:17 am, every child from Mrs. Gandy’s class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, went out into the dark… and they never came back again,” send shivers down my spine. It’s a narrative I wouldn’t want to experience in reality, but it’s exactly the kind of mystery that makes me eager to watch the movie. The official synopsis further piques my curiosity: “When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.
Beyond just the poster and preview, the production of “Weapons” has also created an engaging mini-website, immersing visitors in a distinct atmosphere. The website at https://www.maybrookmissing.com/ offers a captivating blog post, as if written by a PTA struggling with computer skills. The text details:
MAYBROOK PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
Dear everyone who’s involved in the Maybrook community, we won’t stop working diligently until we uncover the truth behind this puzzle.
Around 2:17 am on a Wednesday, a band of third graders from our school, under the guidance of Ms. Gandy, chose to depart from their homes. The authorities are puzzled by these unexpected absences, which have sent shockwaves throughout the community.
Following the vanishing incident, we gathered all parents at a school meeting, allowing many of them to voice their rising worries regarding the ongoing investigation and the location of their children.
One parent asked in confusion, “I just can’t grasp it – why her class, and not any other?” as the school principal tried to calm the audience. Without any indication of coercion, and no additional details surfacing, the query remains unanswered… WHAT COULD THE REASON BE?
It’s interesting to note that, apart from weapons, the website for this project also provides footage captured by Ring cameras which depict children dashing into the darkness. The eerie glimpses of such found-footage imagery are reminiscent of what we saw in the trailer and we believe it adds a chilling effect to the overall presentation. Finding something unexpected on your security camera is definitely unsettling…
In the upcoming film titled “Weapons,” starring Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan, you can expect a top-notch experience. Interestingly enough, “Weapons” has been rated R for its graphic depiction of violence, strong language, some sexual content, and drug use. Rest assured, this movie will not shy away from delivering a realistic portrayal of these themes. The release date for this film is set for August 8, 2025 in the United States, with an international debut starting in August 2025.
