On October 11, starting at 7:30pm BST, renowned grime artist P Money will be hosting an exclusive gaming event on his Twitch channel. He’ll be going head-to-head with Adam Deacon and Jazzie Zonzolo, who are stars in the upcoming movie Sumotherhood. This highly anticipated film is from the same director as the 2011 cult hit Anuvahood. They’ll be playing the latest release from EA Sports FC 24.
In this film, Adam Deacon both acts and directs, having previously appeared in the drama series Kidulthood as well. P Money contributes a track to the official Sumotherhood soundtrack and has recently started streaming on Twitch. Given these connections, it seems fitting that he’d be involved in promoting this movie, which is set to premiere on October 13. This event is being organized by Tundra Esports and Paramount Pictures, and GLHF had the opportunity to chat with P Money beforehand to hear his thoughts on the intersection of gaming and rap culture.
From the onset of my streaming journey, my goal has been to harmoniously blend gaming and music, as they complement each other well. However, I believe that more effort could be made, as there seem to be limited events or collaborations in this area.
When you picture the activities of grime rappers behind the scenes at a concert, you might not expect gaming on a PS5 to be among them, but it actually is. Here’s the truth: Everyone I know, including myself, enjoys playing video games. A few months ago, I was touring with Dizzee Rascal, and we had this POGA – essentially a portable screen with a built-in PS5 – backstage, and we were playing FIFA together.
Tonight’s event brings together gaming and music, with Sumotherhood celebrities, organized by Tundra Esports and Paramount Pictures. P Money, a prominent figure in the grime scene, is excited to be part of the Sumotherhood soundtrack, emphasizing his humility despite his growing success in streaming on Twitch.
When you’re a lover of a particular film, finding out that you contribute to its creation, no matter how minor, is an exciting experience. You see a movie, only to discover later on that something you helped create is included in the film you adore. It’s always a delightful sensation, and even more so when you can share this discovery with your family. A bonus moment comes when you surprise them by letting them watch it, and then they too get to hear what you worked on.
In EA Sports FC 24, P Money’s music makes its fifth straight appearance on the game soundtrack, quite an impressive feat! Here’s what he shared: “Yesterday, I scored against a friend, and guess what? The celebration song that plays when you score is one of mine. It’s always amusing!
As a gamer, here’s my take: “I ain’t bragging, but truth be told, if anyone’s betting against me in a game right now, they might as well be betting on the cold hard ground. So, if you’re curious about P Money’s skills, just tune into his Twitch channel where I showcase my moves on EA FC, NBA, and more.
