Brad Pitt to Star in Conclave Director’s Next Project, Actor to Lead Film Adapted From Tim Winton’s Novel The Riders

Brad Pitt is set to take the lead in the upcoming A24 movie titled “The Riders.” This film is an adaptation of Tim Winton’s novel of the same name. Edward Berger, known for his critically praised and Oscar-nominated work on Conclave, will be directing the project.

2026 marks the start of filming, with scenes being captured at various European sites. The story revolves around a man whose wife mysteriously disappears after moving to Ireland with his family, compelling him on a quest to find her.

In this scenario, David Kajganich is reworking the script, while renowned director Ridley Scott takes on the role of producer under his production house, Scott Free Productions. Additionally, Berger will produce it along with Nine Hours, as well as Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Kajganich himself.

Actor Brad Pitt, known for his role in Fight Club, will be seen next in the racing drama F1, which is being directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also directed Top Gun: Maverick. Additionally, he has other upcoming projects such as The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth, a spin-off based on Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

David Fincher will take charge as director for the upcoming Netflix film, while Tarantino lends a hand with the scriptwriting. The upcoming project, “The Riders,” marks Berger’s first venture following the acclaimed success of Conclave. Notably, this director was also nominated for an Oscar in recognition of his work on All Quiet on the Western Front. Kajganich, who has been tasked with penning the screenplay, is recognized for his partnership with Luca Guadagnino in previous projects.

This team has collaborated on movies such as A Bigger Splash, The Terror, and Bones and All, plus a few more ventures. Additionally, the studio A24 boasts an intriguing schedule for this year with the upcoming release of Materialists, a much-awaited romantic comedy.

According to Celine Song’s hit book, the film boasts an impressive ensemble featuring Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans, and Dakota Johnson. Additionally, it will showcase Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in their sports drama Smashing Machine, as well as Josh Safdie and Timothee Chalamet in the ping pong adventure titled Marty Supreme.
