Elden Ring Nightreign system requirements are good news if you haven’t upgraded your PC since you played Elden Ring

The specifications for running Elden Ring: Nightreign on PC have been disclosed, and it turns out that if your system is the same as the one you employed for playing Elden Ring, it should perform well without any issues.

It appears that Nightreign is quite similar to Elden Ring in terms of gameplay and system requirements, as suggested by Wes Fenlon from PC Gamer who described it as an independent expansion with a lot of resemblance to Elden Ring in his detailed review.

Back then, Elden Ring’s system requirements were quite demanding compared to other games. However, considering it’s been three years now, they are fairly standard. In fact, when Shadow of the Erdtree was released in 2024 with the same requirements, hardware expert Andy Edser labeled the minimum specs as “quite old” and stated that even the recommended setup was “relatively low-performance hardware for modern gaming standards.

The CPU demands for Nightreign have been increased slightly compared to Elden Ring, both in terms of the minimum and recommended specifications. However, since I managed to play Elden Ring with a Core i5 6600K CPU (paired with 16GB RAM and an RTX 3080), it’s possible that you might be able to get away with slightly lower CPU specifications, as long as your GPU and RAM can handle the game. Keep in mind that this is not a guarantee and I cannot promise that it will work for everyone or every system.

In simpler terms, the memory (RAM) and graphics processing unit (GPU) needs for this game match those required by Elden Ring. Furthermore, it only takes up 30GB of storage space instead of the 60GB needed by Elden Ring, suggesting a smaller overall map size compared to Elden Ring.

With all that said, here’s what’s what:

Minimum

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 10600 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500
  • RAM: 12GB
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB
  • Storage: 30GB
  • OS: Windows 10
  • DirectX: DX12 (feature level 12.0)

Recommended

  • Storage: 30GB
