As I dive into the mesmerizing world of Oblivion Remastered, it’s clear that freedom is the name of the game here. However, there are certain intricacies about this realm that remain shrouded in mystery. The map is dotted with recognizable landmarks you can quickly teleport to, but there are hidden gems scattered around that offer substantial perks – if only you knew where to find them!
One such hidden treasure are these rune-covered stone formations, dubbed rune stones. They’re not marked on the map, but activating one of these bad boys can grant you some sweet bonuses. The best part? There are no prerequisites for triggering a rune stone – they’re just waiting to be discovered! But keep in mind that finding them isn’t always straightforward; you’ll need a keen eye and some detective skills to uncover these secrets.
What Are Rune Stones, And How Do They Work?
Scattered throughout Cyrodiil, you’ll come across small landmarks known as Rune Stones. These stones can be broadly categorized into three types: Hestra, Reman, and Sidri-Ashak. Each type of stone grants a unique bound weapon or armor to the player.
Regrettably, the enchanted artifacts last just a brief while, approximately 5 minutes in real-time. Yet, these gems can be utilized several times each day. Keep in mind that they cannot be removed until their time limit expires.
You can activate each unique stone just once every day, but stones of the same kind can all be activated.
Hestra Rune Stone Locations in Oblivion Remastered
The Hestra Rune Stones award a player with a bound dagger and gauntlets. The gauntlets provide you with 3 points of armor, whereas the dagger grants you 5 damage. These glowing rune stones, emitting a light green hue, can be discovered at ten distinct spots scattered across Cyrodiil.
It is easier to spot rune stones at night because of their characteristic glowing runes.

Reman Rune Stone Locations in Oblivion Remastered
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the unique, vibrant cyan hue that adorns the Reman Rune Stones. These precious artifacts offer an exceptional armor and weapon set to the player, providing both a two-handed sword and a sturdy cuirass. The sword boasts a formidable 10 points of damage, while the cuirass sports a robust armor rating of 6. Interestingly, these valuable stones can be discovered in nine distinct locations.
In the bottom-left corner of the screen, you’ll find two symbols – one for your bound weapon and another for your bound armor. These symbols become visible once a rune stone is activated. By observing these symbols, you can determine the remaining time before your equipped items vanish.
