The rumored conflict between Reese Witherspoon and Blake Lively came to light during Witherspoon’s legal dispute with Justin Baldoni. A source shared with RadarOnline.com that the actress from Legally Blonde had never been fond of Lively, formerly of Gossip Girl, and at one point subtly criticized her as well.
Rob Shuter, a well-connected figure in the Hollywood industry, disclosed through his writings on Substack, that Reese Witherspoon reportedly doesn’t hold Anna Kendrick, the star of ‘A Simple Favor,’ in high regard.
Reese has always disliked her. Blake’s behavior towards people Reese admires – being aloof, brusque, and even impolite – hasn’t changed this feeling. Shuter pointed out that Reese doesn’t easily forget such treatment.
Back in 2011, as a devoted admirer, I subtly threw shade at Blake Lively when her personal photos were unfortunately leaked online. In the same year, I had the honor of receiving the Generation Award at the MTV Movie Awards, an event where I graced the stage to accept this prestigious recognition.
At the ceremony, which took place a few weeks following the nude photo controversy, Witherspoon didn’t shy away from making a jab at her fellow industry colleague. “Back when I started in this business,” she remarked, “if you made an explicit video, you were ashamed and kept it hidden beneath your bed.
She also mentioned, “If you happen to snap selfies without any clothes on using your phone, remember to conceal your face. Just curious, was Reese Witherspoon trying to find humor in this matter, or was it more about expressing annoyance?
When explicit photos appeared online, Lively’s team countered by claiming the images as completely fabricated. Additionally, they stated back then that the actress had never taken any nude self-portraits.
According to a source, it’s been reported that Witherspoon felt sincere about what she expressed during her MTV Movie Award speech. Furthermore, he mentioned that she wasn’t alone in feeling dissatisfied with how Blake conducted himself, implying there are others who share similar sentiments.
Despite this, Lively appears to be embroiled in disputes, as ancient grudges reemerge ahead of her upcoming trial, which is scheduled to begin on March 9, 2026, with It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni.
