Fans are filling up cinemas once again as they rush to watch the re-release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, marking its 20th anniversary, which is showing only for a week.
Last night, I was thrilled to attend the 20th anniversary screening of “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” during its Thursday previews! It ruled the box office, raking in a impressive $3.4 million!
Revenge of the Sith Reigns at the Box Office, Signals Star Wars Fans Still Show Up
According to predictions, it appears that Hayden Christensen’s reprisal of Anakin Skywalker, the character he plays when embracing the Dark Side, is set to secure the number one position at the upcoming weekend box office, potentially earning over $20 million.
It’s likely that the combined earnings of the new releases, including Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” ($6M) and the new horror film “Until Dawn” by David F. Sandberg ($1M), will surpass the Thursday preview earnings of Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal’s “The Accountant 2” ($2.5M).
The highly successful showing of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith suggests that Disney should take notice – there’s a strong community of Star Wars fans who are eager for high-quality content. Just as I shared on Twitter, these screenings have been completely sold out. It’s exciting to see Hayden Christensen participating in the promotion as well.

What’s next for Hayden Christensen?
At the recent Star Wars Celebration Japan event, it’s been confirmed that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker for the second season of the series Ahsoka, with production set to start shortly.
He shared with Complex that his comprehension of the character is still deepening. “We’re delving into diverse aspects of Anakin, and it’s something I’m truly appreciating,” he added. “I’m simply enjoying this voyage.
Christensen went on to say, “He’s a multifaceted character with many layers, and there’s plenty happening. However, I’m truly enjoying portraying the more heroic aspects of this character in the Ahsoka series, and I can hardly wait for Season 2!
Would like to return as Darth Vader
Hayden Christensen also said he wouldn’t mind returning as Darth Vader.
He shared with Comic Book his thoughts that there’s much more ground to cover when it comes to Vader. “Given where we last saw him post-Episode III and the personal struggles he faces in this altered form, there are countless compelling tales yet to be unfolded,” he said.
He added, “I’d love to get to continue with it, and so hopefully we’ll get to do more of it.”
