Beyond leading the trend in sneaker culture, Foot Locker also deeply connects with the communities it caters to. For its upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, named “Summer Different,” the retailer reinforces this bond by collaborating with local collectives scattered across Europe. These partnerships enable them to redefine summer, as seen through the lens of these cities themselves.
After the initial collaboration with Spain’s Winner’s Circle, TopMob recently partnered with Foot Locker for a special focus on UNDERCOVER within the latest installment of their unique “Day in the Life” series.
At the center of Paris’ youth culture, this collective organizes popular weekly events at the well-known Sacré club, right in the city’s core. Although the nightlife industry has been affected by the pandemic, their goal is to rejuvenate Paris’ nightlife ambiance for future generations. By uniting through a broad range of music and guided by the philosophy, “ARRIVE WITH VIGOR, DEPART WITH MORE,” UNDERCOVER focuses on positive energy, camaraderie, and festivity.
We tag along with Ewen Koyongo, the videographer for the group, as he guides us through a typical UNDERCOVER nightlife excursion. First, he shows us the team at their workspace – from the visual director to the DJs. Later, they all get equipped with this season’s fashionable running sneakers, provided by Foot Locker.
Typically taking place from late at night until 5 o’clock, they make their way to a renowned Turkish restaurant in Paris for a pre-event meal. The evening concludes at the Sacré club, a spacious venue boasting numerous rooms. Renowned for its eclectic music selection, the establishment skillfully uses these distinct areas to provide various experiences tailored to diverse tastes, within a single night. As Koyongo puts it, “We’re here every Wednesday – whether you’re from Paris or not, join us in living this experience.
Following his recording of a line that wraps around the block, showcasing the bustling queue, Koyongo ventures indoors to guide us through this vibrant venue. “This is where the positive energy resides — Armel’s room,” he explains. “It has a more Afro-Caribbean ambiance. People often gather here to sing and dance together.” Along the hallway, you’ll discover Alyas’ Rage Room, as the name implies, “it’s all about mosh pits and the hottest tracks — it’s the epitome of energy,” referring to the intense music played there. It is here where Koyongo finds himself amidst the chaos of the mosh pit, striving to capture the most exhilarating content for the collective.
For their 30th installment, UNDERCOVER’s events transcend ordinary parties; they represent a significant cultural movement within the city. By collaborating with the local community through music, art, and content, this collective fosters unity in Paris. Koyongo, speaking to TopMob, expresses their close bond with Foot Locker, stating, “In essence, Foot Locker is like family.” They credit Foot Locker for aiding them in creating impactful experiences that resonate within their community, enabling our collective to thrive.
