Genshin Impact 5.6 banners: Escoffier and Ifa debut

In version 5.6 of Genshin Impact, players might find themselves returning to Mondstadt; however, the featured characters in this update’s banners hail from various regions across Teyvat.

In the update 5.6 of Genshin Impact, the new 5-Star character making his debut is Escoffier, a well-known chef from Fontaine, while Ifa, a veterinarian from Natlan and Ororon’s friend, joins as a 4-Star character. This pattern is repeated in the rerun banners, which feature additional 5-Stars representing the two mentioned nations, along with another appearance by Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder – Raiden Shogun.

A bit of a wild mixture, but that at least ensures that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Genshin Impact 5.6 banners: Phase 1

From May 7, 2025, with the release of update 5.6, these characters will become available for you to summon:

  • Banner #1: Escoffier (5-Star, Cryo, Polearm), Ifa (4-Star, Anemo, Catalyst), and two 4-Star characters
  • Banner #2: Navia (5-Star, Geo, Claymore), Ifa (4-Star, Anemo, Catalyst), and two 4-Star characters

Escoffier

Escoffier boasts a diverse skillset, capable of dishing out Cryo damage both directly and from afar. She also possesses a distinctive talent: absorbing elemental attacks and converting them into edible forms. In some ways, she shares characteristics with Mizuki, as her Elemental Burst is used for healing purposes.

Navia

In a battle, Navia discards her elegant demeanor and employs a Claymore with great force, amplified further when she imbues it with Geo energy. When all options are exhausted, she resorts to her parasol’s hidden shotgun, inflicting immense Geo damage. She performs optimally in a team that includes another Geo character and two versatile positions.

Ifa

ifa possesses the standard skill set commonly found among Anemo characters, which makes him exceptional for teams that rely on reactions. His capability to trigger Swirl is particularly useful, as it allows for crowd control, gathering enemies in one area. Moreover, he excels at amplifying Electro-Charged reactions, making him an ideal choice for combinations involving Electro and Hydro characters.

Genshin Impact 5.6 banners: Phase 2

In three weeks’ time, during the middle of the game version on May 28, 2025, the banners will switch over, introducing these new playable characters:

  • Banner #3: Kinich (5-Star, Dendro, Claymore) and three 4-Star characters
  • Banner #4: Raiden Shogun (5-Star, Electro, Polearm) and three 4-Star characters

Kinich

In simpler terms, Kinich is a character who excels at inflicting significant harm, and he employs a versatile approach that includes both close-quarters combat and long-range attacks. By utilizing his hunting skills, he can ensnare his target with a rope, giving him the opportunity to unleash a series of ranged Dendro assaults from various angles, causing substantial damage.

Raiden Shogun

Raiden Shogun is an incredible force, swiftly defeating foes with her polearm or the powerful Musou no Hitotachi. She performs optimally in teams that require quick reactions and requires a significant amount of Energy Recharge to boost her attack potency.

In version 5.6, you’ll find a “Chronicled Wish” flag featuring these characters along with their distinct weapons.
