After Disney’s adaptation of “Snow White” failed spectacularly at the box office, Rachel Zegler’s upcoming project appears to be on track for a similar disappointing performance, seemingly destined to underperform even prior to its release.
23-year-old Rachel Zegler will take on the lead role of Eva Perón in the upcoming revival of the iconic 1978 musical “Evita,” composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The show, famous for its memorable music such as “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina,” is being directed by Jamie Lloyd. The production will premiere at London Palladium on June 14 and run for a span of twelve weeks.
Well, it turns out that similar to Snow White, nobody is buying tickets.
Ticket Sales Lag for Rachel Zegler’s Evita
The article “Rachel Zegler’s Low-Key Profile Amidst Worsening Controversy Over ‘Progressive’ Snow White Production” in the Daily Mail suggests that ticket sales for her production have been lackluster.
A quick look at the ticketing site shows that a relatively small number of tickets have been sold for the grand production set to open in two months.

Sure enough, checking the venue’s website, does show a lot of empty seats, as the Daily Mail adds:
During the months of June, July, August, and September, there’s an abundance of ‘eco-friendly’ options available for you, with ticket prices as low as £29.50 in our 2,286-seat venue.
The play won’t start for a few months, yet given that it has only a few thousand seats available and tickets priced quite affordably, it might raise some worries.
What happened with Snow White?
The film “Snow White” is considered one of Disney’s largest financial flops to date, boasting an estimated production cost of close to $300 million. Regrettably, after more than a month in cinemas, it has failed to generate revenue surpassing $200 million.
By Tuesday, the domestic earnings for “Snow White” amount to a modest $85 million, while its international revenue stands at an impressive $109.4 million. The total global revenue of this film now sits at approximately $194.5 million.
Disney’s “Snow White” received negative feedback due to the contentious statements made by Rachel Zegler regarding the classic character Snow White, as well as her political opinions on Palestine, and her criticisms towards President Trump and his followers.
Disney looks to lose, at least, over $100 million.
