In both the announcement broadcast and blog post, it’s been highlighted that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered introduces modifications to its leveling system compared to the original version. These adjustments find a balance between the initial Oblivion and Skyrim, as they incorporate concepts from the subsequent game to streamline gameplay, bridging the gap between the two titles.

How Oblivion Remastered’s levelling system works
Previously, your character’s growth was limited to enhancing Major Skills based on your chosen class during the initial quest. Now, Minor Skills have been incorporated as well to contribute towards level advancement, albeit not as significantly as Major ones. This change means that regardless of the skills you elect to develop, your character will progress and become stronger than before. Additionally, this modification accelerates the pace at which you level up compared to the original version.
How to level up in Oblivion Remastered
Once you hit the required level to advance, you’ll receive a message “Your [skill] has improved. It’s time for some rest and reflection on what you’ve learned,” which essentially means you should sleep in a bed, as this is the action that triggers the levelling process.
During leveling up, you’ll receive 12 Virtue points to distribute among three of your character attributes. Each attribute can only receive a maximum of 5 points at once. Unlike in the original Oblivion, the number of points awarded remains constant at 12, regardless of the skills improved. Make your selections, click confirm, and you’ll be back on your adventure!
