Morphea for PvE

Beach Vacation Morphea

As a devoted admirer, I’d say that Morphea’s standout outfit is none other than her “Beach Vacation” ensemble. With this look, she summons two fans identical to herself, each with the same stats. These fans have an incredible ability – they can self-destruct, dealing a staggering 700% damage!

Now, here’s where things get interesting. Since Morphea can summon two of these fans, it effectively doubles the damage output. So, each turn, she unleashes a whopping 2×700% = 1,400% of damage! That’s quite the punch, making BV.Morphea an absolute powerhouse in the arena!

In PVE gameplay, the character BV.Morphea offers a great deal of adaptability. For typical encounters, her summoned creatures can dish out damage to multiple enemies for broad area effect, or focus on a single target for intense bursts of damage. If you don’t activate the self-destruct skill on these summons, they regenerate SP by performing regular attacks. Moreover, these summons can act as protective barriers, absorbing powerful enemy attacks. Upon death, these summons do not leave behind any remains. Thus, BV.Morphea can aid in defeating challenging enemies even when you’re under-leveled, as you can utilize the summons as continuous shields to buy time until they are defeated.

In battles against fiends and guild leaders, the character BV.Morphea proves particularly potent, especially when the adversary has heightened vulnerability for just a single or two turns. This is due to BV.Morphea’s ability to accumulate her summoned allies across the battlefield, and then release them en masse during the boss’s most susceptible moment.

Daydream Bunny Morphea

At a past occasion, the Daydream Rabbit was a rare Morphea costume that came without cost. However, this costume is seldom utilized due to its unique characteristic: it summons only one unit, unlike other costumes that call two. Additionally, it cannot be employed in a pre-emptive manner.

Apostle Morphea

As a gamer, I’ve found that Apostle Morphea’s self-inflicted damage isn’t quite as powerful as I’d hoped. Even with a +5 upgrade, his damage output is just 200%. It’s not exactly the game-changing effect I was expecting.

Apostle Morphea’s real strength lies in enhancing the potency of her summoned beings. Her Apostle ability can also be employed straightaway following the activation of her surprise move, Beach Vacation. For instance, during Player versus Environment (PVE) on Turn 1, you could:

* Immediately deploy both skills together for a powerful start in battle.

  1. Pre-emptively activate BV.Morphea (5 SP) to create 2 summons
  2. Use Apostle Morphea (1 SP) for 200% damage
  3. Use the first summoned unit to attack for 700% x 280% = 1,960%
  4. Use the second summoned unit to attack for 700% x 280% = 1,960%

As you can see, that’s over 4000% damage, which is incredibly powerful.

Keep in mind that Apostle Morphea uses a vulnerability-type buff. If you have other similar buffs, such as those related to vulnerability or amplification, they will combine additively. This could potentially lessen the effect of Apostle Morphea’s buff. For more detailed information about how these buffs interact, please refer to the FAQs.

The Apostle uses focused attacks as a taunt on the opponents, thereby enabling your summoned units and allies to attack enemies positioned in hard-to-reach areas like skips or vaults.

If you’ve been diagnosed with BV.Morphea, having Apostle Morphea on your team can significantly increase the amount of damage dealt in battles.

Morphea for PvP

Morphea on defense

On the battlefield, BV.Morphea stands out as an exceptional choice for defensive teams due to her unique ability. Just like Granhildr, she can initiate actions even before the combat begins. Instead of offering a protective shield, however, BV.Morphea generates two extra allies at the start of the game.

So far, one of Morphea’s limitations is that she often can’t utilize her advanced abilities on the third turn, as the 5 SP cost of Beach Vacation is excessive. Daydream Bunny, which costs only 2 SP for summoning, offers less impact compared to Beach Vacation.

On Turn 3, Apostle Morphea offers your defense an affordable choice for just 1 SP. While his attacking power isn’t particularly high, his area-of-effect damage deal of 3×3, reaching even to the back row, can prove quite potent. Additionally, if Morphea’s summons manage to survive until Turn 3, they significantly increase in threat level due to Apostle Morphea’s vulnerability effect, which nearly triples the attack power of those summons.

Morphea on attack

Apostle Morphea presents a fresh tactical choice for assault squads. Despite dealing relatively low overall damage, her budget-friendly SP cost and expansive Area of Effect (AOE) make her a valuable character to include in gameplay.

If you have an Apostle Morphea with a M.ATK of 1600 and crit damage of 500%, when this character critically strikes, they will deal approximately 41,280 magic damage to enemies who have no M.RES, and around 4,128 magic damage to those with 90% M.RES. Apostle Morphea attacks in a large area of effect (AOE) measuring 3×3, utilizing skip/vault targeting, which significantly increases the chances of hitting low HP enemies lurking in the back. While her damage may not be enough to defeat tankier units outright, she is potent enough to serve as an effective Turn 1 opener for just 1 SP (skill point).

Morphea’s Exclusive Gear

Morphea’s exclusive gear is not recommended to pull for, as it is only used for defense PVP.

Morphea’s unique equipment belongs to the category of accessories, specifically the fourth slot. A significant attribute for this gear is that it is fixed to Critical Hit Rate, which means the available combinations can only be Critical Hit Rate/Health, Critical Hit Rate/Percentage Health, or Critical Hit Rate/Critical Hit Rate.

In a Player vs Environment scenario, critical rate isn’t significantly crucial as you’d typically opt for Venomous Touch (focusing on critical damage/critical damage as main stats). The critical damage from Venomous Touch surpasses the 45% bonus M.ATK offered by Morphea’s exclusive equipment.

In player versus player combat, Morphea is typically equipped to act as a tank, allowing her summoned allies to maintain the frontline for extended periods. Since Morphea’s unique gear enhances her M.ATK stat by 45%, it offers a slight edge over other defensive items in this role. This added boost may not significantly impact most players (except those aiming for top rankings in PVP).

Conclusion

In this game, our second playable character, Apostle Morphea, is another powerful addition. If you’ve already got Beach Vacation Morphea in your roster, then Apostle Morphea is crucial for maximizing Morphea’s potential, particularly in PVE scenarios. Conversely, if you don’t own Beach Vacation Morphea yet, Apostle Morphea may not be very useful to you, as her individual damage output is quite low and she primarily enhances the power of summons summoned by Beach Vacation Morphea.

In player versus player scenarios, Apostle Morphea enhances Morphea’s defensive team effectiveness and opens up a new tactical option by integrating Morphea into offensive teams. Despite her relatively low headline damage, her ability to execute a 3×3 area-of-effect attack for just one skill point is significant, particularly when combined with B.Helena’s buffs.

If you’re enthusiastic about Beach Vacation Morphea and wish to maximize her potential, feel free to proceed. Otherwise, save your resources for the impending Goblin Slayer collaboration!
