What is I Know What You Did Last Summer about?

Five companions unintentionally trigger a lethal car crash, choosing to hide their guilt instead of dealing with the repercussions. A year on, their hidden secret comes back to torment them as they are compelled to acknowledge a chilling reality: someone remembers their summer crime and is determined to exact revenge. As one by one they are targeted by a murderer, they uncover that similar events occurred before, leading them to seek assistance from the sole survivors of the infamous Southport Massacre of 1997.
