Andor Season 2: Release Date, When and Where to Watch, Cast, Plot, And More

In the U.S., the concluding season of Andor will debut on Disney+ on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. A day later, on Wednesday, April 23, it will premiere in the UK. The initial launch features the first set of three episodes, followed by weekly releases of additional groups of three episodes every seven days.

9 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) and 6 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) has been chosen as the release time, a shift from previous Star Wars series which usually premiered early in the morning. This adjustment is reportedly part of Disney+’s revised release strategy for certain new shows, according to Variety.

In contrast to its first season, Andor Season 2 consists of 12 episodes in total, which marks the end of this captivating series. Instead of following a linear narrative, this second season will present an unusual structure. The episodes are organized into four distinct story arcs, with each arc encompassing three episodes.

At each point in the narrative, we’ll leap ahead a year in the timeline, starting from 4 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin). This storyline will seamlessly transition into the events portrayed in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). The structure is designed to illustrate the progression of the rebellion and the character growth of Cassian Andor.

As a diehard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as Diego Luna steps back into the boots of Cassian Andor, our fearless Rebel spy! Not only that, but Genevieve O’Reilly is set to reprise her role as Mon Mothma, Adria Arjona will once again bring Bix Caleen to life, and Joplin Sibtain returns as Brasso. To top it all off, Alan Tudyk joins the cast, reviving the role of K-2SO – Cassian’s loyal droid sidekick! And if that wasn’t enough, Stellan Skarsgard is back as Luthen Rael. The Force is strong with this one, and I can’t wait to see what adventures await us in the Star Wars universe!

Among the ensemble are Ben Mendelsohn, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Kyle Soller, Denise Gough, and Forest Whittaker. Additionally joining are Alais Lawson, Elizabeth Dulau, and Theo Costa Marini. It’s possible that Andy Serkis will reappear as Kino Loy, though this hasn’t been officially verified yet.

In Season 2, we’ll delve into major topics like leadership, deception, and allegiance within the Rebel Alliance. The narrative will delve deeper into the establishment of the Rebel base on Yavin 4, tying more closely to the events of the original Star Wars trilogy. Each story arc will examine a distinct phase in the development of the rebellion’s complete formation.

As an ardent Star Wars devotee, I’m thrilled to share that this writing crew is nothing short of spectacular! Tony Gilroy kick-started our journey by crafting the first three episodes, followed by Beau Willimon who took over for episodes 4 through 6. Dan Gilroy then stepped in for episodes 7 to 9, and let me tell you, the final trio is penned by none other than Tom Bissell, a fellow Star Wars enthusiast! The team’s mission? To ensure our tale seamlessly aligns with the grand Star Wars timeline.
