Bitcoin Baron’s Bonanza! 🤑

Ah, Strategy, that most flamboyant of financiers, has once again dipped its bejeweled fingers into the glittering bitcoin pie. One might say they’ve developed a rather unhealthy appetite for digital trinkets. 💅

  • Strategy, in a move that could only be described as ‘excessive,’ has added 6,556 bitcoin to its already bulging balance sheet, a sum amounting to $555.8 million. One wonders if they’ve considered diversifying into, say, actual gold? 🤔
  • The purchase, naturally, was funded by selling shares like a common street vendor hawking wares. At-the-market, they call it. How dreadfully pedestrian! 🙄
  • Strategy now clutches 538,200 BTC to its bosom, purchased at an average price of $67,766 per coin. A price, I dare say, that would make even Croesus blush. 😳

Strategy (MSTR), in its infinite wisdom (or perhaps its infinite folly), has augmented its bitcoin collection by 6,556 units, an expenditure of $555.8 million, as revealed in a regulatory filing. One can only imagine the champagne wishes and caviar dreams that fueled this decision. 🥂

The acquisition, predictably, was financed through the sale of the company’s stock. How very resourceful! It’s almost as if they’re printing money, though one suspects the printers are rather more sophisticated these days. 🖨️

The firm, which has apparently appointed itself the ‘Bitcoin Emperor,’ divested 1.76 million shares of its Class A common stock and over 91,000 shares of a preferred stock series – STRK – between April 14 and April 20. A veritable fire sale, one might say. 🔥

The common stock sale yielded a respectable $547.7 million, while the preferred shares contributed a further $7.8 million. The latest spree inflates Strategy’s total hoard to 538,200 BTC, obtained at an average cost of $67,766 per coin. One hopes they have a secure vault. 🔒

The Michael Saylor-led entity has lavished $36.47 billion on bitcoin thus far. Shares of MSTR are up a paltry 2.77% in pre-market trading, as BTC ascends to a lofty $87,300. A triumph of capitalism, or a cautionary tale? Only time (and the next market crash) will tell. 🤷‍♂️
