Zenless Zone Zero – Yanagi build and promotion guide

Maintain a well-disciplined team and keep your adversaries subdued using the optimal Yanagi build for Zenless Zone Zero‘s Electric Anomaly Agent. This character excels at shocking enemies and causing powerful, additional disorder effects in conjunction with other characters.

As a gamer, I’ve got this character named Yanagi who’s got two unique fighting styles – Jougen and Kagen. The first one cranks up my Electric Damage, while the second boosts my Penetration Ratio. Each style subtly changes how my Basic Attack plays out. I can switch between these styles by triggering a Special Attack after the third, fourth, or fifth hit in my attack chain. Doing so not only switches to the new stance’s benefits but also holds onto the previous one for a bit longer, giving me the perks of both for a brief period. It’s like I’m dancing between two fighting styles for a tactical advantage!

When Yanagi partners with another Anomaly or Electric Agent, significantly boosting her Basic Attack’s Electric Anomaly Buildup occurs as she changes her stance.

  • Full Name: Tsukishiro Yanagi
  • Role: Anomaly
  • Damage Type: Electric
  • Faction: Hollow Special Operations Section 6
  • Rarity: S-Rank

Her Extraordinary Special Move delivers Electric damage and triggers Shinrabanshou state. This reduces the sequence of her Basic Attacks, starting it from the third move, thereby facilitating a smoother transition between stances. Many of Yanagi’s abilities feature this characteristic, making her playstyle seamless.

As a gamer, I’ve found that when my EX Special Attack connects on an enemy already afflicted by some anomaly, it sets off a Polarity Disorder. This unique condition dishes out a hefty chunk of damage based on Yanagi’s Anomaly Mastery without curing the anomaly from the target. Similarly, under the same conditions, Yanagi’s Ultimate ability can instigate Polarity Disorder. To add to this, engaging my EX Special Attack amplifies the disorder’s damage multiplier for the entire squad and temporarily ramps up my own electric damage against the affected foe.

Yanagi’s Mindscape Cinema provides extra perks. By acquiring multiple versions of it, Yanagi will accumulate a pile-up of Clarity (up to three times) whenever an opponent is affected by an Anomaly. With one or more piles, her proficiency in handling Anomalies improves, while getting hit depletes a pile and temporarily makes her invincible.

1. At level 2, Yanagi’s EX Special Attack accumulates more Electric Abnormality, enabling it to deliver additional initial pushes. The more times she performs this move, the higher the damage from the final burst due to Polarity Disturbance.

2. Level 4 causes a debuff on enemies who have sustained Attribute Anomaly Damage from Yanagi. This makes their Defense Rating lower for any subsequent attacks.

3. At level 6, the duration of Yanagi’s Shinrabanshou state during her EX Special Attack is extended, boosting its damage and allowing more thrusts to contribute towards enhancing the Polarity Disturbance Damage.

ZZZ – Yanagi: best W-Engines

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but sing praises for Yanagi’s top-notch W-Engine, the Timeweaver. While it primarily boosts my attack power, what truly sets it apart is its ability to enhance the Electric Anomaly Buildup Rate and temporarily amplify my Anomaly Proficiency upon using a Special Attack or EX Special Attack. To top it off, when my Anomaly Proficiency surpasses a specific level, my Disorder Damage receives an additional boost. Simply put, this bad boy is a game-changer!

ZZZ – Yanagi: best Drive Discs

Yanagi strives to maximize her Anomaly Proficiency and Anomaly Mastery levels, as these skills allow her to activate Anomalies and Anomaly Disorders swiftly. Additionally, stats like Attack (ATK), Penetration (PEN), Critical Rate, and Critical Damage Multiplier enhance her overall damage potential.

ZZZ – Yanagi: best team comps

Yanagi excels at facilitating Anomaly-based creations, making it an effective tool not just for single-electric setups, but also for diverse groups.

  • Yanagi (Main DPS), Burnice (Sub DPS), Caesar (Support)
  • Bangboo: Red Moccus

As a dedicated fan, I appreciate that Yanagi thrives with plenty of gameplay time to shine, making pairing her with an off-field agent like Burnice a smart move, giving her the necessary space to perform optimally. Together, Yanagi and Burnice can effortlessly activate Yanagi’s potent Polarity Disorders, delivering equal amounts of Shock and Burn damage. And let’s not forget about Caesar, who serves as an outstanding support by providing a protective shield for us and weakening our enemies with debuffs.

Lucy and Seth could be excellent replacements for the third spot, each offering unique bonuses to fit the role. Consider utilizing Miyabi and Soukaku with Yanagi for a Section 6 exclusive team that shares a similar approach.

  • Yanagi (Main DPS), Grace (Sub DPS), Rina (Support)
  • Bangboo: Plugboo

In most cases, a squad primarily relying on a team ability that triggers chaos, specifically one needing two distinct Attribute Aberrations to function, might not be an effective choice. However, the Polarity Disorder effect stands out as it can be activated by two Shock effects instead – this creates an opportunity for a powerful Electric Anomaly team featuring Yanagi and Grace, both skilled in deploying this effect. To bolster this team, consider adding Rina for overall PEN increases and enhanced Electric damage output.

As a gamer, I could also consider incorporating Anby, Qingyi, or Seth into my team to boost stun power and damage. However, keep in mind that Yanagi and Grace are quite demanding when it comes to field time on this team, so their presence might limit the opportunities for these new additions.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t stress enough that enhancing Yanagi is just the beginning. To truly unleash her full potential in combat, it’s essential to upgrade all of her skills. Here’s a breakdown of the materials you’ll need to max out each of her attacks: Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack. The total amount provided is for all five skills combined, so simply divide by five to acquire the required materials for upgrading a single skill. Good luck in your quest!

  • Basic Shock Chip x25
  • Advanced Shock Chip x75
  • Specialized Shock Chip x250
