In the latest ‘Fujinken Reborn’ episode of Yaiba, we start by observing Onimaru’s daily routine, highlighting his disciplined lifestyle and solitary training within a vast ancestral residence. Meanwhile, his sister is participating in an overseas kendo competition. At school, Yaiba persistently wants to join Sayaka in her classes, but she firmly declines his offer.
Constantly goading Onimaru with their duel in mind, Yaiba frequently baits him during the day. Eventually, Onimaru consents, but loses due to Yaiba’s unique fighting approach. Embarrassed, Onimaru shatters a lantern, uncovers the cursed Wind God Sword hidden beneath his dwelling, and metamorphoses into a demon in an attempt to vanquish Yaiba.
In Yaiba Episode 3, Onimaru – sporting horns and an eerie aura – challenges Yaiba to a re-match. Despite a feeling of unease, Yaiba agrees. However, armed with the mighty Wind God Sword, Onimaru swiftly dominates Yaiba, pushing him to acknowledge his own vulnerabilities.
In my pursuit of the cursed blades, I’ll guide Yaiba towards a second one—the Thunder God Sword. This blade is crucial to confront Onimaru. To lay hands on it, Yaiba must journey to Tengu Peak and encounter its current bearer: the timeless swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, who has walked this earth for four centuries.
Entitled ‘Another Cursed Sword,’ Yaiba Episode 3 is set for broadcast on April 19, 2025 at 5:30 pm (Japan Standard Time).
