What is 28 Years Later about?
Renowned director Danny Boyle, who has won an Oscar, teams up once more with screenwriter Alex Garland, who was nominated for an Academy Award, in the creation of 28 Years Later, a chilling new tale that continues the universe established by the film 28 Days Later.
For nearly three decades, the Rage Virus has remained confined after it broke free from a bioweapons lab. Now, life continues within the strictest of quarantines for some, as they’ve discovered means to survive among the infected population.
As a passionate moviegoer, I’d put it this way: A band of us resilient souls have made our home on a tiny isle, secluded and only accessible via a fortified bridge that serves as both our lifeline and our protection against the dangers lurking beyond.
As a member of their party ventures deep into the interior of the mainland, they uncover hidden truths, marvels, and terrors which have altered not just the diseased populace, but also other living souls who survived there.
Who stars?
Featuring are Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes in the main roles.
Behind the movie
Danny Boyle serves as the film’s director, with a screenplay penned by Alex Garland. The production team includes Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, Bernard Bellew, Boyle himself, and Garland. Cillian Murphy is listed as an executive producer.
