Amazon has terminated the plans for further seasons of the spin-offs, “Citadel: Honey Bunny” and “Citadel: Diana,” following the completion of their first season. The original series featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden is slated for release between 2025 and 2026, with an official summary now available.
According to Vernon Sanders, who leads television production at Amazon MGM Studios, the individual storylines for Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana characters are set to be combined in the upcoming season of the primary series.
He shared that while the popular international chapters won’t carry on separately, Season 2 of Citadel promises to be even more thrilling. Sanders mentioned that the emotional arcs of Nadia (played by Chopra Jonas), Mason (Madden), and Orlick (Tucci) will be further explored in this season.
He also pledged an engaging narrative with high-risk drama, a daring cinematic journey, and fresh faces joining the remarkable ensemble cast. “We can’t wait to reveal what’s coming up when Citadel Season 2 debuts worldwide in the second quarter of 2026,” he also mentioned.
The international versions of Citadel, produced by the company, were not renewed for another season, a development that wasn’t particularly shocking given recent events. This is because the show had been in a precarious position since Amazon MGM’s head, Jennifer Salke, unexpectedly left the company. During her tenure with the organization, Citadel represented one of her largest and most daring projects to date.
The story centers on events happening within the spy organization known as Citadel. Following its collapse, the memories of its operatives are erased. The official summary hints that in the wake of this void, a formidable group called Manticore is emerging. Will the agents of Citadel remember their past and gather the courage to resist?
The second installment of the flagship series is now being edited for release, featuring the return of Chopra Jonas, Madden, and Tucci in their original roles. Leo Woodall, Ashleigh Cummings, Paul Bazely, Roland Møller, Moira Kelly, among others, complete the ensemble cast.
