Kim Kardashian to Give Evidence in 10 Million USD Paris Armed Robbery Trial, Lawyer Says ‘Proceed in Orderly…’

Kim Kardashian is set to personally appear in court during the upcoming trial from April 28 to May 23, where she will provide testimony against the men accused of robbing her at gunpoint during the 2016 Paris Fashion Week. Her legal representative, Michael Rhodes, announced on Tuesday that she will indeed speak before the jury, detailing her harrowing experience.

According to a statement made to Associated Press, Rhodes expressed great respect and admiration towards the French legal system. He desires the trial involving Kardashian to move forward smoothly, abiding by French law and considering the interests of all parties involved in the case.

As a dedicated follower of this case, initially, seventeen individuals were held accountable for their suspected involvement. However, only ten of them were officially indicted. Interestingly, the upcoming trial will zero in on six specific suspects who are up against numerous charges such as armed robbery, kidnapping, and offenses related to criminal gang activities.

Among the six individuals under suspicion, you’ll find Aomar Ait Khedache, often referred to as “Old Omar” and thought to be the main planner of the heist. Additionally, there’s Yunice Abbas, who, in the heat of escape, accidentally lost a valuable diamond-studded cross worth approximately 34,000 USD from a bicycle. Remarkably, this cross was later discovered by a passerby.

In October 2016, during Paris Fashion Week, Kardashian was residing in a high-end apartment with her sisters. Unbeknownst to her, a group of robbers, disguised as police officers, forced their way into the residence. As per accounts and testimonies, they silenced her, bound her using cables and tape, and confined her in the bathroom. Subsequently, these thieves made off with jewelry valued at approximately 10 million USD, including a 4 million USD diamond ring—a present from her then-spouse, Kanye West.

Most of the stolen jewelry was never recovered and is believed to have been sold in Belgium.

In a 2017 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the 44-year-old disclosed a harrowing experience where she believed she was about to be sexually assaulted and murdered. She explained that, after covering her mouth with duct tape, the intruders bound her legs and pointed a gun at her face.

Per the court’s provisional schedule, Kardashian will testify in the French court on May 13.
